16 BENEFITS HSA Eligibility You must be eligible to open or fund a Heath Savings Account (HSA) You must be enrolled in a high-deductible health plan (HDHP). 23 FSA Understanding FSAs Through your employer, you choose to set aside money, tax-free, to pay for medical or dependent care expenses. You decide how much of your wages you want taken out of your paycheck and put into an FSA. You don t have to pay taxes on this money.
