3 Globalization & International Initiatives Export Development Expanded efforts to assist Pinellas companies in their efforts to export for the first time or to expand into additional foreign markets. Foreign Direct Investment Expanded efforts to assist foreign companies with their plans to invest in Pinellas facilities and operations. Foreign Trade Zone Program - Created to enhance U.S. production and job opportunities by deferring, reducing, or eliminating payment of duties; eliminating formal customs entries; and eliminating duty on goods processed and exported from the zone, as well as materials and parts used in production.

6 Tampa International Airport FY ,051 international passengers in 2017, up 11.6% from 2016* 126% increase in international traffic since 2010 Lufthansa will be upgrading its service in October, 2018 with a new seating configuration which provides 30 business class seats (up from current configuration of 18) Copa will be increasing its Panama City (PTY) service from 4x week to daily flights beginning July, 2018 Icelandair, which launched in September, 2017 with 2 flights a week, will increase their service to 4 flights a week in September, 2018

11 2017 Brookings Global Cities Initiative The Global Cities Initiative, a joint project of Brookings and JPMorgan Chase, is an initiative that aims to help leaders in U.S. metropolitan areas reorient their economies toward greater engagement in world markets.

25 FTZ 193 What is a Foreign Trade Zone Secure areas usually located in or adjacent to a Customs Port of Entry Geographically inside the U.S. but legally outside the U.S. Customs territory for duty purposes FTZ 193 will include Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando Counties Goods in zones are considered to be part of international commerce, not domestic It is only once goods leave the zone to enter the commerce of the U.S. that normal tariff and Customs regulations apply to those goods

Two-year extensions with no limit to the number of extensions. E-2 Treaty Investor To allow a substantial investment in to a US business by a national of a country with which the US maintains a treaty of commerce and navigation. Be a national of a country with which the U.S. maintains a treaty of commerce and navigation. Have invested, or actively in the process of investing, substantial capital in an actively operating U.S. enterprise. Entering the U.S. solely to develop and direct the enterprise with 50% ownership or operational control. Two years. Please consult the reciprocity table for guidance on an applicant s nationality. Two-year extensions with no limit to the number of extensions. H-1B Person in Specialty Occupation To work in a specialty occupation, in a Dept. of Defense (DOD) cooperative research and development project, or as a fashion model. A Bachelor s or higher degree, a license; hold a registration or certification; have experience in the specialty equivalent to the completion of a degree and expertise in the specialty through progressively responsible positions, or Be a fashion model of distinguished merit and ability.. Up to three years. Please consult the reciprocity table for guidance on an applicant s nationality. To a total of six years H-2B Temporary Nonagricultural Worker For temporary or seasonal non- agricultural work. There are not enough U.S. workers able, willing, qualified, and available to do the temporary work. Employing H-2B workers will not adversely affect the wages and working conditions of similarly employed U.S. workers. The need for services or labor is temporary, whether the underlying job is temporary or not. The period of time authorized on the temporary labor certification. Increments of up to 1 year, a maximum stay of 3 years.
