4 General FAQs Q. Why did FECU merge with Collins Community Credit Union? A merger was important to FECU so that we can ensure our members can be confident that the credit union is operating within federal compliance guidelines. The merger will also provide enhanced financial services, convenience and benefits to FECU members. As a $20 million credit union, FECU simply cannot bring the benefits, access and financial strength to you as those of a combined $790 million financial institution. Q. Will the employees at my credit union branch change? A commitment has been made to retain 100% of the Federal Employee Credit Union staff. In fact, they will be given added incentive to stay as part of this new and thriving organization, with added benefits both personally and professionally. We want you to continue to see the same friendly employees you have grown accustomed to serve you with the same personal touch. Q. Will my account numbers change when the merger is completed? Every effort will be made to maintain your current account numbers. In the future, if any changes are necessary, all members will receive a separate notification of specific changes before they happen. Q. I need copies of my previous account information from FECU. Who do I request this information from? You may contact your current branch for this information. After July 2 nd, you may call the Member Contact Center at to make this request. Q. What will my branch network look like after the merger? Currently, there will be no immediate branch closures as a result of this merger. In fact, you will be gaining 10 more branch locations in East-Central Iowa. Collins Community CU anticipates adding additional locations throughout the Polk County area. We encourage you to continue to conduct your daily business with the credit union as you always have in the past. 4

7 Checking Accounts FAQs (con t) Q. If I had FECU Privilege Pay for my checking account will I have that type of product at Collins Community CU? Yes, you will have Courtesy Pay that covers overdrafts. Please refer to the Discretionary Overdraft Privilege Disclosure for overdraft fee information as well as Courtesy Pay limits and payback time frames. You received all the Disclosures information earlier in June. You can also access the disclosures online at Q. Will my depository accounts still be insured through the NCUA? Collins Community CU remains financially safe and secure. You can enjoy added peace of mind knowing that your deposits are federally insured through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U.S. government agency. The NCUA is backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government. Not one penny of insured savings has ever been lost by a member of a federally insured credit union. Each account holder s funds are now insured to at least $250,000, and individual retirement accounts are separately insured up to $250,000. If your savings exceed the amount covered by the basic insurance limits, you can extend your NCUA coverage by establishing different types of accounts. The NCUA insures accounts in different ownership categories separately. You can get up to $250,000 of additional insurance for your interest accounts owned jointly with someone else and for trust accounts of which you are a beneficiary. Detailed information about NCUA insurance, as well as a calculator that you can use to estimate your coverage, is available at the NCUA website, 7
