7 Data submitted by providers is adjusted to remove trials where NIHR accepts that the source of delay was not the provider of NHS services acting as the trial host (for example in the case of an extremely rare disease where relevant patients cannot be identified in time). Comparative performance against the 70 day benchmark to recruit the first patient into clinical trials The performance table includes adjusted data for all providers of NHS services who have been subject to the requirement for 4 quarters or more. The main comparative measure is the. There are a number of scenarios where this measure may be incalculable and the following convention will be adopted in these circumstances: Scenario Convention for presentation in the table The provider may have relevant activity to report for the period, but has failed to make a submission no return The table will be populated with a hash symbol (#) in each of the numeric/percentage columns (A-D) The provider has reported that there was no relevant activity for the period a nil return The table will be populated with a hyphen in each of the numeric/percentage columns (A-D) The provider reported relevant activity for the period, but all activity was excluded from the adjusted analysis no adjusted activity The table will be populated with zero in each numeric column (A, B and D) and a hyphen in the percentage column (C).
