2 About US Ali Hermanto Strategic Consul3ng ( AHSC ) is an independent consul3ng firm founded by two senior professionals who have long term experience working at two different Big Four consul3ng and accoun3ng firm. Prior to forming AHSC, both founders have several years of experience working as corporate execu3ves in an oil and gas group and one of the largest listed mining companies in Indonesia. 3 Our People - Partners Hermanto is co-founder of AHSC and has around 30 years of professional experiences in financial, accoun3ng and tax consul3ng. Hermanto has been involved in various professional engagements including audi3ng, financial and tax due diligence, corporate and project structuring, tax disputes and resolu3ons, and various transac3on supports in merger and acquisi3on and global bond offerings. Prior to forming AHSC, he has held various roles including Tax Partner in KPMG Indonesia in He had previous experiences in forming Harsono Hermanto Strategic Consul3ng in 2007 prior to joining the Board of a major listed coal mining company in 2011 as Director of Taxa3on and Good Corporate Governance. Hermanto graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Tarumanagara University majoring in Accoun3ng in He a_ended an execu3ve educa3on program in Harvard Business School with subject General Management Program in 2011 (HBS Alumni GMP 11). He is a registered Tax Consultant (Brevet C) and registered Chartered Accountant (CA) with the Indonesian Ins3tute of Accountants which is also recognized by the Interna3onal Federa3on of Accountants (IFAC). He also hold a license as legal representa3ve at the Tax Court.

Prior to forming AHSC, he has held various roles including Tax Partner in PwC Indonesia and Group CFO of an Indonesian based oil and gas group. During his professional career in Indonesia and the Netherlands, Ali has been exposed to a wide variety of industry sectors, including coal and hard rock mining, oil and gas, u3li3es, telecom, and consumer products. 7 Our Services Tax advisory services Taxa3on (direct and indirect) is one of key aspects that shall be considered when corpora3ons are contempla3ng any transac3ons. Irrespec3ve of the company s circumstances, tax risk management has become more important in recent years as the Indonesian tax legisla3ons are growing in complexity and the tax audit process and approach are more sophis3cated in recent years. Incompliance with the prevailing tax regula3ons may expose the company to significant unnecessary costs and effort. AHSC collaborates with our clients to plan and design transac3on structures that are effec3ve and efficient from tax perspec3ve. Some of our clients transac3on may have been entered into without proper considera3on of its tax implica3ons, and we work together with them to restructure, re-nego3ate and provide inputs on amendment to the relevant agreement to alleviate tax risks. 8 Our Services Tax dispute resolutions Tax dispute resolu3on in Indonesia may take a long process, from managing tax audits, filing an objec3on le_er on audit results and discussions with the tax auditors, up to filing an appeal to the Tax Court and a_ending hearings. In some cases, when the Tax Court appeal result is not favorable, a reconsidera3on request may be filed to the Supreme Court. Each of the tax dispute resolu3on steps above needs to be managed properly and monitored closely to ensure the best possible outcomes. Timely communica3on with and convincing case presenta3on to the tax auditors and tax court judges are crucial. AHSC can work with you in managing the risks associated with tax dispute resolu3on process, from tax audit assistance to Tax Court appeal and the reconsidera3on request to the Supreme Court. 9 Our Services Transfer pricing Recently the Indonesian Minister of Finance introduced new Transfer Pricing ( TP ) regula3on on TP Documenta3ons. This regula3on is in line with the OECD BEPS Ac3on 13 regarding Transfer Pricing Documenta3on and Country-by-Country Repor3ng. The Indonesian Tax Office is also targe3ng its tax monitoring and tax audit efforts on TP issues. Therefore, managing your related-party transac3ons becomes increasingly cri3cal. AHSC provides TP solu3ons ranging from TP advisory, TP documenta3ons and TP dispute resolu3ons.
