9 General banking know-how in Indonesia Opening an account in Indonesia Opening > bank a account Bank account in Indonesia is a relatively straight forward process but each bank > Applying for credits has their own set of requirements and could take > ATM Coverage time Types of account include Cheque, Saving Vehicles: Bank Book, Cheque, Payment and Cash withdrawal card, ATM Card Typical documents required to open an bank account o Photocopy of a valid passport o Photocopy of temporary stay permit (KIMS, KITAS) or permanent resident licence (KITAP) o Some banks may ask for reference from the employer or sponsor Generally opening an account can be done in a day and debit (ATM) cards can be made on the same day of the account being opened.
