1 FAST TRACK FORM Walshs are always looking for new ways to improve the client experience! In 2017 we presented to our clients the Fast Track Form (previously called Income Tax Return Checklist ) to collate information for tax returns. We had an overwhelming uptake and even better feedback. The Fast Track Form allows Walshs to complete your income tax return in a more efficient manner. The main benefits of this process for you are: Faster turnaround time for the completion of your income tax return A more valuable tax meeting, with less time spent gathering tax information and more time spent providing valuable tax & financial advice An estimated tax position provided in your meeting Your tax return finalised within 48 hours of your meeting A personalised prefilled tax checklist that you can fill in at your own pace to ensure we get the best tax outcome for you Please refer to the last page of this document for detailed instructions on how to complete the Fast Track Form. It is important to note that this process is optional, and if you would prefer to follow the traditional way of completing your tax return that is more than OK. 5 A more efficient way to complete your income tax return At Walshs we are continually exploring new ways to improve the client experience and to make your life easier. We understand how busy you are and how valuable your time is! Our Fast Track Form will make the process of completing your tax return more efficient, improve the turnaround time, while at the same time ensuring we get the best tax result for you Fast Track Form Walshs have taken the time to review your income tax return and prefilled the attached Form with your prior year information. This should assist you in the collation of your tax information. Tax Meeting By completing the Fast Track Form and providing your supporting documentation via the Client Portal we are able to complete your tax return without an initial tax meeting, subject to all required documents being provided by yourself. To save you time, and the cost of travel for a meeting, we can undertake a follow-up meeting with you over the phone/skype to review your tax return to see if anything else needs to be included. If you still wish to come into our office for a meeting you are of course more than welcome to. The Process 1. Please complete the attached Fast Track Form. Once complete please re-upload to the Client Portal. 2. Please be sure to upload to the Client Portal your PAYG Summary/s, Private Health Statement/Medicare Levey Exemption Letter (if on a 457 Visa). If you complete the form in full we do NOT require your supporting documentation for your deductions. In fact it maybe easier for you to simply complete the Form and upload to the Client Portal. However if you would prefer you may just indicate the deductions you wish to include and provide supporting documentation via the Client Portal. Due to the volume of documents you may be uploading we request that you compile all documents in a single folder and bulk upload at the same time. Alternatively you can compress this folder and upload as a zip file. Record retention is the responsibility of the taxpayer. You are required to keep written evidence for five years from the due date of lodging your tax return. 3. Once you have uploaded your documents we will receive a notification and begin processing your tax return. 4. You will be contacted by a Walshs Client Services Coordinator to book in a meeting with an accountant either by phone/skype, or in our office if you prefer. This will be a minimum of 2 weeks after providing your information to allow Walshs sufficient time to complete your tax return. 5. If we require any further information to complete your tax return, we will contact you. Your meeting may have to be rescheduled if we do not have all the necessary documentation. 6. Have a phone/skype meeting, or in our office if you prefer, with a Walshs accountant to review your tax return, financial position and ask any questions you may have. 7. Walshs will send your final tax return for review and signing via the Client Portal. If you have any questions regarding the process please contact our office at tax@walshs.com.au
