2 TRUSTUNION SECURE TRUST MANAGEMENT ECOSYSTEM TrustUnion offers developers and businesses the tools to bring different levels of Trust enabling services into their offering, so individuals and businesses can transact with their peers in the comfort of a secure trusted and secured environment. Accelerated by the recent scandal of Facebook s Cambridge Analytica or the hack of Equifax who exposed critical personal data of up to 13 millions Americans, the peer-to-peer economy that had boosted the prosperity of the digital economy is now becoming a stranger-to-stranger economy, where mistrust is the norm. For centuries, trust has played a crucial role in every economic interaction in intimate settings such as family or neighbor relationships. With the rise of digital technologies, people interact now around the world beyond the physical barrier of geographical boundaries. Yet, the full complex layers of real-life trust have not yet found its digital equivalent. The stranger-to-stranger economy calls for bringing back trust to solve the issues of vulnerability and risk that are inherently involved when interacting with a stranger. Trust and transparency are inherent benefits of blockchain technologies. The Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) operates in such a way that the integrity of economic interactions can be assured by a tamper-proof record that both parties can trust. The mutual lack of knowledge about each other that prevails in a stranger-to-stranger economy doesn t matter anymore, hence enabling a full new digital-trust based economy, aka the Trust Economy. The Distributed Ledger Technology offers an unprecedented solution with a far reduced cost of trust, starting by the removing of a centralized maintenance of a ledger, but not limited to. TrustUnion s mission is to bring the Trust Economy to reality by enabling an ecosystem of Trust As A Service applications. TrustUnion plans to propose a secured Trust Management system, including a robust Trust.Chain protected and backed by the Trust.Network. To start the ecosystem, TrustUnion will offer several tools for digital marketplaces whether web/mobile apps or blockchain-based dapps to be used as Testing as a Service (TaaS). 3 WHAT IS THE TRUST.CHAIN? 17 At the heart of the TrustUnion Secure Trust Management system lies the Trust.Chain. The Trust.Chain is a peer-to-peer network of Member nodes, each node represents a TrustUnion Member which features both a Trust.Score and a Trust.Path value. The Trust.Score is calculated based on the member s past behavior on the TrustUnion network and the TrustUnion Trusted Marketplaces. It is also impacted by the evolution of the Trust.Score of its direct outgoing connexions. The Trust.Path value depends of the Trust.Score of all the nodes between two members. Both the Trust.Score and the Trust.Path help members to assess if they can truthfully transact with another member. A transaction can be buying/selling a product or a service, renting an equipment, and all trackable digital interactions that involve 2 peers Shop Shop Shop 1 11 User 8 TrustUnion members are granted a very limited number of direct connexions with other members they trust, most likely people they know well and they could become liable for their connexions actions. This limited number of direct connexions is a fixed amount and are granted for the lifespan of the TrustUnion member account. One can see that granting one direct Trust connexion to a member is similar are becoming liable for the actions of that member: the behavior of your direct connexion s members are directly impacting your own Trust.Score. For example, If a member is identified as having a fraudulent behavior, his/her Trust.Score is decreased, which automatically decreases the Trust.Score of the members that granted this fraudulent member a direct connexion. The limitation of the number of direct outgoing Trust connexions combined with the impact of one s Trust.Score on the Trust.Score of his/her direct connexions Trust.Score promotes an organic robust behavior of the Trust.Chain. You can imagine the Trust.Chain is an elastic peer-to-peer network of Trust, that naturally adapts to various attacks such as sybil attacks, fake accounts, etc... and fraudulent behaviors. This elasticity is a first barrier to digital frauds. The Trust.Network is a next-generation peer-to-peer network where block validators are rewarded for securing the blockchain and masternodes are rewarded for validating the blockchain as well as offering decentralized value-added services to its users.
