1 Close Date: April 29, 2016 Salary: hourly depending on qualifications Clerical Assistant per hour DOQ TEMPORARY/PART-TIME / NO BENEFITS DEFINITION: The position is temporary and no benefits are provided. Provides administrative assistance and routine clerical support primarily to the Administrative Department. Receives and responds to verbal or written directions on a daily or project basis. Up to 16 hours a week, weekdays to be agreed upon. Appointment is dependent on District needs and funding availability and will in no case exceed a total of 980 hours per year. IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES: * Sorts, files and copies material as directed in compliance with policies and procedures. * Provides telephone coverage, taking messages and directing calls to appropriate staff members. * Provides front office coverage to assist customers. * Operates copiers, fax, mail room, computer and other routine office machines and equipment. * Receives, distributes and mails correspondence. * Stocks supplies and materials inventory for copiers, mail room, breakroom. * Delivers and processes incoming and outgoing mail, supplies and materials to appropriate locations. * Utilizes department software applications to maintain records or perform related duties including data entry. *Sets up and breaks down for meetings * Filing and scanning of documents is required EDUCATION AND TRAINING GUIDELINES: Education: High School diploma or equivalent or higher is required; coursework in modern office procedures, typing, English, and arithmetic is highly desirable, but not required. Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite. Experience: At least 6 months of paid or documented volunteer experience in any office or retail environment is required.
