2 Report of the Independent Auditor on the Summary Financial Statements To the Board of Trustees of The New Brunswick Plumbers, Pipefitters and Sprinkler Fitters, The accompanying summary financial statements, which comprise the summary statement of financial position as at December 31, 2011, December 31, 2010 and January 1, 2010, the summary statement of changes in net assets available for benefits and summary statement of changes in pension obligations for the years ended December 31, 2011 and December 31, 2010, are derived from the audited financial statements of The New Brunswick Plumbers, Pipefitters and Sprinkler Fitters, for the years ended December 31, 2011 and December 31, We expressed an unmodified audit opinion on those financial statements in our report dated May 23, The summary financial statements do not contain all the disclosures required by the financial reporting provisions of Section 9(9) of Regulations of the New Brunswick Pension Benefits Act. Reading the summary financial statements, therefore, is not a substitute for reading the audited financial statements of The New Brunswick Plumbers, Pipefitters and Sprinkler Fitters,. Management s Responsibility for the Summary Financial Statements Management is responsible for the preparation of a summary of the audited financial statements in accordance with the financial reporting provisions of Section 9(9) of Regulations of the New Brunswick Pension Benefits Act. Auditor s Responsibility Our responsibility is to express an opinion on the summary financial statements based on our procedures, which were conducted in accordance with Canadian Auditing Standard (CAS) 810, Engagements to Report on Summary Financial Statements. Opinion In our opinion, the summary financial statements derived from the audited financial statements of The New Brunswick Plumbers, Pipefitters and Sprinkler Fitters, for the years ended December 31, 2011 and December 31, 2011 are a fair summary of those financial statements, in accordance with the financial reporting provisions of Section 9(9) of Regulations of the New Brunswick Pension Benefits Act. Basis of Accounting and Restriction on Use Without modifying our opinion, we draw attention to the audited financial statements of The New Brunswick Plumbers, Pipefitters and Sprinkler Fitters,, which describes the basis of accounting. The financial statements and summary financial statements are prepared to assist the Trustees of The New Brunswick Plumbers, Pipefitters and Sprinkler Fitters, to meet the requirements of the Superintendent of Pensions.
