On New Years Eve, our slumping bull with be 4½ years old... and the tap of cheap money could be shut down sometime in I doubt we'll see these numbers again in our lifetimes. My advice? Take all that talk from Wall Street insiders, talking heads on TV, and your friendly broker, about rallies, housing recoveries and an endless flow of easy credit with a BIG grain of salt. And it's not just me. Recognize these guys? Seven well-known market experts who predict a crash-or something eerily close to it-by the end of 2013: 1. Peter Schiff takes his "doomsday" prediction a step further Euro Pacific Capital CEO Peter Schiff issued a warning on Fox Business last year: "We've got a much bigger collapse coming." Then a new bombshell in recent weeks: "I

3 am 100% confident the crisis we're going to have will be much worse than the one we had in 2008." 2. Bill Gross: "Credit supernova" to turn 2013 bull into angry bear Bill Gross, head of the massive Pacific Investment Management bond giant, has $2 trillion at risk when the Fed's cheap money scheme goes bust. He issued an ominous forecast that the global central bank-induced credit bubble "is running out of energy and time." 3. Gary Shilling predicts the "grand disconnect" will trigger 'shocker' Economist Gary Shilling said a "shock" could be just around the corner. Now he says that the Fed's taper-reducing the $85 billion monthly bond buying program intended to keep long term interest rates low-could just be that shock. 4. Bond guru Jeffrey Gundlach predicts "third wave" of 2008 meltdown The CEO of Doubleline Capital is one of the few who predicted the 2008 meltdown. Now he says the real damage is yet to come. "Watch for an" ominous third wave, "a bigger crash, whose impact will far exceed the damage of 2008." 5. Jeremy Grantham: America's growth and prosperity "gone forever" Grantham's GMO firm manages $100 billion. He gave a disturbing answer recently when asked: "Is U.S. Economic Growth Over"? Yes, says Grantham, "the U.S. GDP growth rate... is gone forever." By 2100, America's GDP growth will fall back to where it started before the Industrial Revolution, to an annual rate of less than 1%. 6. Nouriel Roubini: "Prepare for the perfect storm" in an unstable world American economist Nouriel Roubini anticipated the collapse of the U.S. housing market. He tells Slate.com: "Sooner or later, another ugly fight" over debt, and markets will "become spooked" and drag on an economy growing barely at a 2% rate.and then there's Syria and other hot-button triggers waiting to ambush a jittery stock market Reagan's budget director sees "apocalypse... get out now" David Stockman wrote an op-ed piece in the New York Times warning of an economic "apocalypse" dead ahead. Why? He's not happy about "a rogue central bank that has abetted the Wall Street casino, crucified savers on a cross of zero interest rates and fueled a global commodity bubble that erodes Main Street living standards." I can't tell you if all of this is about to happen, but I do know after 30 years in this business that it all makes sense. We're very confident that our discipline will protect you and your

9 Taper The bearded-banker's swan song was to leave the chairmanship of the Federal Reserve with a slight "taper" of his seemingly never ending QE policy. During his final press conference after the release of the Fed's statement, Chairman MaoNanke admitted that nothing had really changed while answering one of the many puffball questions of financial press. The truth is, when one considers the back-end promises of more QE in the future if needed, and more ZIRP for an even longer period of time, nothing really changed. This is surely the reason why, after the initial knee-jerk reaction lower, stocks screamed up making new highs. From the Fed statement in italics: The Committee recognizes that inflation persistently below its 2 percent objective could pose risks to economic performance, and it is monitoring inflation developments carefully for evidence that inflation will move back toward its objective over the medium term. (Excuse me for asking, but isn't one of the two Fed objectives to keep prices stable? And wouldn't that be near zero inflation? Is 2% inflation per year, compounded over a lifetime, stable? Prices would quadruple over 70 years; how is that "stable?" Yes, I know the bankster class needs inflation, but what about regular people for a change?) In light of the cumulative progress toward maximum employment and the improvement in the outlook for labor market conditions, the Committee decided to modestly reduce the pace of its asset purchases. Beginning in January, the Committee will add to its holdings of agency mortgage-backed securities at a pace of $35 billion per month rather than $40 billion per month, and will add to its holdings of longer-term Treasury securities at a pace of $40 billion per month rather than $45 billion per month. (The total taper amount, put another way, is 11.77% so 88.23% remains available to continue to monetize US Treasury debt - something that Bernanke himself said would never happen.) It will be interesting indeed to see how the market trades off of this information over

10 the next few weeks. Be sure to have a back-up plan in place...we certainly do with our 1%@Risk platforms.
