4 Our Index Family Multi-tiered index family severe the multi-tiered market Starting from the SZSE Composite Index in 1991, SZSE INDEX accumulates more than 25-year experience in index calculation. In line with the mission of serving the multi-tiered capital market of the SZSE and benefiting from the vigorous development of the located market, the SZSE INDEX has established the corresponding index family, including SZSE Component Index, SME Index, ChiNext index, SZSE 100 and other widely recognized benchmark indexes and distinctive investment oriented indexes. The CNI INDEX has been launched since 2002 to cover both local and cross-border security markets. The index family covers stock, fixed income, currency and many other asset classes, aims to provide alternative benchmarks and underlying indexes for index products. Indexes with SZSE codes are calculated and disseminated through SZSE's fifth generation of exchange trading system at every 3 seconds and available at more than 150 authorized international data vendors. 8 SZSE Component Index The SZSE Component Index is internal-renowned and widely regarded as a comprehensive benchmark of Shenzhen equities. The index is designed to measure the performance of the 500 largest and most liquid A-share stocks listed and trading on the SZSE. 14 SZSE 100 Index SZSE 100 is the first A-share index designed for investment function in China. It is free-float capitalization weighted and comprises the 100 largest and most liquid A-share stocks listed and trading on the SZSE. 16 SZSE Size Index Series With the fast-growing of IPOs and the expansion of market size, the middle and small cap stocks gradually take a majority by both number of stocks and market capitalization. SZSE Size Index Series are developed based on the aggregate indicators of market cap and liquidity to track the performance of Shenzhen stocks multilaterally and comprehensively. We define SZSE 100 as the large cap index, SZSE 200 as the middle cap index, SZSE 300 as the large and middle cap index, SZSE 700 as the small cap index, and SZSE 1000 as the full cap index. Within the index universe of SZSE 1000, the rest 500 securities after the 500 constituents of SZSE Component Index comprise of the SZSE Small/Mid Cap Innovation Index. SZSE Small/Mid Cap Innovation Index is designed to measure the performance of the small and middle-cap segment of Shenzhen market and comprehensively describe the multi-tiered Shenzhen market together with the SZSE Component Index. At this stage, Shenzhen Northbound Trading of Shenzhen-Hong Hong Stock Connect is restricted to a range of eligible stocks. The universe is constituents of SZSE Component Index and SZSE Small/Mid Cap Innovation Index, whose 6-month average market capitalization no less than RMB 6 billion. 18 SME-ChiNext Index Series and SZSE Select Index Main Board, SME Board and ChiNext Market are the three distinguishing segments of SZSE. SME-ChiNext Index Series are constructed using stocks listed on SME Board and ChiNext Market as index universe. The 500 largest and most liquid stocks are selected as constituents of SME-ChiNext 500. Then the largest 100 stocks are comprised of SME-ChiNext 100, while the rest stocks are comprised of SME-ChiNext 400. SME-ChiNext 100 is defined as the club of leaders from SME Board and ChiNext Market, while SME-ChiNext 400 is on behalf of the rapid growth of SMEs and innovative enterprises. SME-ChiNext 100 is also the first SZSE Index with a linked ETF (CNXT) listed on the US market. 24 CNI Bond Valuation and CNI Bond Index Series CNI Bond Valuation CNI Bond Valuation and Yield Curve Data Series ("CNI Bond Valuation") aim to serve investors of onshore RMB bond market, reflect the term structure of bond yields, and provide transparent and rule-based evaluation prices. The data series comprise the evaluated pricing at the individual bond level and fitted yield curve in category-specific subsectors. CNI Bond Valuation is the first one to be in line with the Principles for Financial Benchmarks set by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) in mainland China. CNI Bond Valuation is already used by foreign index provider as primary data source to construct RMB-denominated bond index, the corresponding ETF is also listed aboard. CNI Bond Indexes As of September 30, 2016, 36 CNI Bond Indexes are published in the category of the Treasury and Policy Bank Bond, Treasury Bond, Policy Bank Bond as well as the corresponding Maturity Index Series. 25 Methodology To be included in the index, bonds must be denominated in RMB, issued by one of the following issuers: Ministry of Finance (PRC), China Development Bank, and The Export - Import Bank of China, Agricultural Development Bank of China. Only fixed-rate bonds whose cash flow can be determined in advance are eligible for the indices and must have an original term between 1 and 10 years. All bonds must have a specific minimum amount outstanding in order to be eligible for the respective indices which are CNY 10 billion for Treasury Bond and CNY 5 billion for Policy Bank Bond. 26 Chinese Yuan Index (CNYX) Jointly launched by SSIC and CCTV Financial Channel, the Chinese Yuan Index (CNYX) is a comprehensive measurement of effective exchange rate of Chinese Yuan, based on exchange rates between Chinese Yuan and a basket of currencies from those major trading partners. CNYX is calculated using the geometric average of bilateral exchange rates between Chinese Yuan and 10 constituent currencies including US dollar, Euro, Japanese yen, Hong Kong dollar, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, Pound sterling, Russian ruble, Malaysian ringgit and South Korean Won. The weight of each pair of exchange rate is assigned according to bilateral trade volume and GDP, weighted equally.
