1 Be Cautious As Cash Market And Nifty Showing Divergance Friday, June 01, 2018 Indian equity markets yesterday showed divergence between Nifty and smallcap, so we advise to trade in the market with cautious note. The Nifty rose 122 points or 1.15% to settle at while smallcap underperformed and witnessed profit booking and lost 77 points or 0.98%. However bank Nifty has outperformed the market and rose by 2.40% as HDFC Bank gained 4.5 percent ahead of opening of FII trading window on June 1st. The SEBI decided to open the window for institutional trading series (6 lakh series) just for a day on June 1, In fact, the regulator has decided to scrap the mechanism from July 1 onwards. This has led to an increase in demand for the stock. Apart from HDFC bank other banks which gained yesterday were Indusind Bank (up 3.75 percent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 2.4 percent).
