1 SRU Softball 2018 Fall Prospect Camp Who: Student athletes in 9 th -12 th grade: 2022, 2021, 2020 and 2019 graduates What: Indoor/Outdoor softball instruction: pitching, catching, infield, outfield, and hitting Where: SRU Morrow Field House: 111 W. Central Loop, Slippery Rock, PA When: Saturday, September 29 th :00am - 4:30pm (Field Positions and Hitting) Sunday, September 30 th :00am - 2:15pm (Pitching and Hitting) Why: To give you the opportunity to see what it is like to be an NCAA Division II athlete at Slippery Rock University. Our goal is to establish a fun working environment that increases your skill level while experiencing our coaching style and how SRU Softball practices and plays. Limited spots available per session. Register now!
2 The Session Breakdown: Hitting: You will have the opportunity to display your athleticism by participating in hitting drills that the SRU softball team practices daily. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to hit against our pitching staff. All hitting will take place indoors at the SRU Field House Catchers: You will have the opportunity to showcase your throwing, blocking and framing skills, as well as your quickness and mobility behind the plate. This session will be outside (TBA), weather permitting. Infield: You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your athleticism at multiple infield positions while showcasing your smoothness, quickness, arm strength, range and glove skills. This session will be outside (TBA), weather permitting. Outfield: You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your athleticism at multiple outfield positions while showcasing your quickness, range, arm strength and drop step skills. This session will be outside (TBA), weather permitting. Pitching: You will have the opportunity to showcase all current pitches and the chance to learn new ones. All pitching will take place indoors at the SRU Field House. 1-on-1: This session gives you an opportunity to speak with Coach Rice, her coaching staff, and other student athletes to answer questions about Slippery Rock University, our softball program, academics, the studentathlete balance, the eligibility process, and more this is an informal, open Q&A format for students and parents, so come with questions! Cost: Saturday, September 29 th, 2018 Session 1 (Hitting): $65.00 Session 2 (Catchers): $30.00 Session 3 (Infield): $30.00 Session 4 (Outfield): $30.00 Session 5 (1-on-1 with Coach Rice): $30.00 Sunday, September 30 th, 2018 Session 6 (Pitching): $60.00 (Please supply your own catcher) Session 7 (Hitting): $65.00 Session 8 (Pitching): $60.00 (Please supply your own catcher) Session 9 (1-on-1 with Coach Rice): $30.00 Additional Information: Please notice we are hosting two different prospect camps one is Saturday (9/29/18) and one is Sunday (9/30/18). Sunday is primarily dedicated to pitchers; however, we are not opposed to non-pitchers signing up for the offensive portion. Please complete the correct registration form for the day(s) you will be attending. Registration will be at the SRU Morrow Field House for both Prospect Camps. Registration will open at 8:30AM; you can arrive to register based on your session time and personal warm up time. (GPS Location: 111 W. Central Loop, Slippery Rock, PA 16057).
3 Additional Information (cont.) Please notice that there are two sub-sessions (A & B) for Session 1: Hitting and Session 3: Infield (see chart on page 1). You may request a specific time slot, but it may not be granted. All sessions and sub-session requests are granted based on availability and/or timely registration submission. You will be notified through when your camp registration is received. Additionally, you will receive your personal hitting and infield sub-session times along with outside locations on Thursday, September 27 th, Some sessions are located at the SRU Morrow Field House, where others will be located at SRU Softball Complex. Due to current field renovations, we may have limited usage. Each player must bring her own softball equipment including indoor and outdoor shoes; pitchers must bring their own catcher. We suggest bringing water and snacks. Concessions will be available, but limited. Both SRU Softball Prospect Camps will be held rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, all sessions will be inside at the SRU Morrow Field House.
