Current coverage with excess flood covers reasonable and necessary costs incurred to protect and preserve property of $1.5 million deductible but on a blanket basis rather than previous per building / per contents method Lowered flood deductible from $500,000 to $250,000 for actual damage. 9 2016 Flood Claim TrueNorth is working with RT Specialty and key members of City Risk Management team to craft a response to the Excess carriers original position stating a $12.5 million deductible would apply. Identification of flood barriers, including HESCO barriers, that coincides with the 26 flood stage projections. Objective of the 26 flood stage along with the barriers is to illustrate the buildings the City was protecting to recoup dollars based on preservation of property We have centered on 5 locations (excluding parks with no insured buildings) that have a value of just under $65 million. Using these five locations and applying the previous deductible of $500,000 / per building we have identified $2,500,000 of costs the city would incur. Using an estimated $6.7 million for installation and removal of flood protection we have approximately $4.9 million as final costs. The remaining balance is still being calculated by City Engineers for removal of barriers TrueNorth is also seeking access to a $500,000 sublimit for Outdoor Property on the previous policy along with $1 million from a sub-limit for permanent flood controls that were damaged in the flood of The city is still working on gathering these costs to be included in the claims submission 8
