No. 06/2017 THE SHIPPING CORPORATION OF INDIA LTD. (SCI), a NAVRATNA PSU is India s premier shipping company and has a significant presence on the global maritime map. The SCI occupies the Numero Uno position with its large and diversified fleet, operating in nearly all segments of shipping viz. break-bulk services, container services, liquid and dry bulk services, offshore services and passenger services. The Company also mans and manages vessels on behalf of various Government bodies. The SCI continues to grow through strategic alliances and new business opportunities. SCI invites applications from Professionals for the following posts on Contract Basis. Details regarding the vacancies are indicated below. Sr. No Post Senior Fire & Security Officer (Mumbai) Junior Fire & Security Officer (Mumbai/Kolkata) No. of Posts 1 2 Post Qualification/Experience Ex-Serviceman in Indian Defense Services as an officer not below the rank of Major (Army)/Lieutenant Commander (Navy)/ Squadron Leader (Indian Air Force) with minimum 10 years of experience in Indian Defense Services Or Ex- Police Officer retired at least on the rank of ACP or Ex CISF Officer retired at lease on the rank of Deputy Commandant. Specialization in Fire Fighting/Safety is desirable. Personnel with experience of service in PSU/PSB will be given preference. Degree in Fire & Safety Engineering with minimum 3 years of experience in relevant field. Or Diploma in Fire & Safety Engineering with minimum 5 years of experience in relevant field Pay Consolidated Salary of Rs. 1,00,000/- per month with an increase of Rs. 3000/- per year (around 3%) (All Inclusive CTC.) Income Tax will be deducted at source as per prevailing rules. Consolidated Salary of Rs. 70,000/- per month with an increase of Rs. 2000/- per year (around 3%) (All inclusive CTC). Income Tax will be deducted at source as per prevailing rules. Upper Age Limit Not more than 50 years as on Not more than 30 years as on

CEO with Gas experience Shore experience for LNG supervision will be preferred Consolidated Salary of Rs. 2,50,000/- per month (All inclusive CTC). Scope of Work: Senior Fire & Security Officer i) Responsible for safety of life and properties under SCI premises. ii) Planning, execution and documentation of required security arrangements at SCI premises. iii) Co-ordination and liaison with various Govt. authorities such as Port Trust, Local Police, Fire Brigade, Municipality etc. iv) To ensure all mandated Fire and Security systems are in working condition Procurement and maintenance of necessary Fire & Security equipment for SCI s premises. v) Maintenance of fire arms and renewal of their licenses for undertaking necessary escort duties vi) Management of Security guards as per prescribed Security manning plan. vii) Issuance of Dock Entry Permits and passes for Shore and Off-shore employees. viii) Any other job assigned by the Management of SCI. II. Scope of Work: Junior Fire & Security Officer i) Ensuring compliance to audits as per norms and close out NC s accordingly. ii) Responsible for safety of life and properties under SCI premises. iii) Execution and documentation of required security arrangements at SCI premises under guidance of Sr. Officer. iv) Co-ordination and liaison with various Govt. authorities such as Port Trust, Local Police, Fire Brigade, Municipality etc. v) To ensure all mandated Fire and Security systems are in working condition Procurement and maintenance of necessary Fire & Security equipment for SCI s premises. vi) Maintenance of fire arms and renewal of their licenses for undertaking necessary escort duties as per Sr. Officer s instructions. vii) Managing of Security personnel as per prescribed Security manning plan. viii) Issuance of Dock Entry Permits and passes for Shore and Off-shore employees. ix) Any other job assigned by the Sr. Officer/Management of SCI. x) Reporting to Sr. Officer/Management of SCI of the responsibilities carried out. 2

Scope of Work: Marine Engineer i) Ensure that vessels are maintained in a seaworthy and cargo worthy condition by owner. ii) Ensure owner communicates/report of any emergency situation on the vessel and their deal with the emergency by their shore emergency response team. iii) Ensure vessels owner comply with all statutory, national, international, port authority and classification rules and regulations. iv) Ensure that vessels have valid statutory and Class certificates on board at all times. v) Ensure Vessel owner liaise for major repairs/dry docking planned for the vessels well in advance. vi) Provide voyage instructions to the vessels. vii) Ensure closure of non-conformities, deficiencies raised by various authorities in time by the owner. viii) Ensure owner follow up with accidents, hazardous occurrences reported by the vessels. ix) Ensure Owner reports of all incidents occurred on the vessels as soon as possible. x) Ensure owners have system in place for carrying out risk assessments activities, for reasonably foreseeable risks and they maintain records of same. xi) Monitor vessels performance, fuel consumption, speed and boil-off in line with Charter Party Terms. xii) Carry out inspection on behalf of Charterers in line with SIRE. xiii) Ensure vessels have valid SIRE Report. xiv) Ensure owners maintain manning of the vessels as per Charter Party Terms & Conditions; however it must not be less than the industry practice for crew matrix. xv) Guiding Master and Chief Engineer of vessels regarding misc voyage requirements. (B) (C) Period of Contract: The period of contract will be for 2 years extendable by one year at SCI s discretion. Posting: The selected candidate can be posted or transferred anywhere in India depending on requirement of the organization. Selected candidate will have to make their own arrangements for accommodation. (D) Leave: 30 Days leave per year and pro rata for the period of extension. (E) Working Schedule : Working will be on shift duty for 6 days in a week as per job requirement; one weekly rest shall be applicable. Contact Number: /2576 (G) Termination of Contract : The contract may be terminated by either side by serving a notice of one calendar month s or payment of notice pay in lieu thereof. However, the Corporation shall reserve the right not to accept resignation/notice of termination should the circumstances so warrant i.e. the disciplinary proceedings are pending or are contemplated against the officer. (H) General Information : (a) Only Indian Nationals need to apply. (b) The Company reserves the right to change the number of vacancies or cancel the recruitment at any stage.
