Zurich World Travel Protection for medical emergency claims includes: Worldwide medical concierge services backed by expert medical practitioners, provided in 46 native-level languages. In-house physicians. Travel assistance specialists. Registered Nurse Case Managers. Worldwide hospital admission and payment guarantee. How have we helped? Medical Expenses Whilst enjoying a skiing trip in France, a client suffered a serious fall resulting in a broken pelvis and leg. An emergency call was made to Zurich World Travel Protection, who immediately assessed the situation. An air ambulance was called to the scene and the client was lifted off the mountain and taken to a nearby hospital. From then on, we remained in constant communication with the client and his travel companion. Following surgery, there was a medical requirement for the client to remain in a lying position. Therefore, arrangements were made for an air ambulance and private ground ambulance to return both the client and his companion to the UK. All of the arrangements and costs for the emergency air mountain rescue, medical charges, additional hotel and living charges were dealt with in full by Zurich Private Clients, helping to minimise stress for the client at a difficult time. Curtailment Whilst on holiday in the USA, a client s UK home suffered major internal water damage. As a result, the client wished to curtail the holiday and return back home as soon as possible. We understood the client s requirements and confirmed that full cover would be provided under the terms of their Zurich Private Clients travel policy. We organised arrangements immediately to fly the client and his family back to the UK as quickly as possible. Once the client was back in the UK, we recognised that the policyholder s attention was wholly focused on the damage to his home. Therefore, we pro-actively approached the travel agent involved in order to fully quantify the cost of the unused holiday, accommodation and planned excursions, all of which were fully covered under the terms of his Zurich Private Clients travel policy. Once we obtained all of the necessary information, we could clearly explain to the client the details of all the costs incurred. This transparent process facilitated the agreement of a full settlement quickly. As we also insured the client s home in the UK, we were happy to apply only one excess across both the travel and home claims, providing a streamlined, seamless experience for the client.
