Topic: Foreign Trade Meaning, difference between internal trade and external trade. Meaning and characteristics of international trade, problems of international trade and its advantages and disadvantages. Export trade Meaning, objectives, purpose and procedure. Meaning and functions of import trade, objectives, purpose and procedure. Documents involved in international trade.

Documents involved in Import Trade: Such as import license, indent,letter of credit, documentary bill of exchange, bill of entry, bill of sight, port trust dues receipt, application to import, advice note, bill of lading. World Trade Organisation. Meaning and objectives. Topic: Social Responsibility of Business and business ethics. Concept and need for social responsibility. Responsibility towards owners, investors, consumers, employees, government and community. Responsibility of business towards protection of environment, meaning and importance of Business Ethics. Note: The above mentioned topics for the 2 nd term will get over by the end of November 2015 hence both the topics and related sub topics are to be studied elaborately. Final Examination: Scheduled from 8/2/2016 Topic: Trade : Wholesalers. Meaning and services of wholesaler to retailer, customer and producer. : Retail trade: Meaning characteristics of retail trade.distinction between wholesale and retail trade Types of retail trade: Small scale fixed shops, departmental store, chain store, mail order houses, tele shopping, franchise, consumer cooperative stores, hypermarkets and automatic vending machines. Documents used in home trade: inquiry, quotation, catalogues order, invoice, debit note, credit note. Price quotations Cash discount and trade discount. : Role of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Trade Associations.

Resources required for successful e business implementation, online transaction, Payment mechanisms, security and safety of business transactions. : Outsourcing: Concept need and scope of BPO and KPO : Smart cards: Meaning and utility Note: The examination scheduled from 8/2/2016 will incorporate all the above mentioned topics (i.e. from 1 st Term onwards). The break up of the syllabus would be as uder: 40% from the first term, 20% from the 2 nd term and 40% from the final term.
