2 OBJECTIVE Jointly organized by the Actuaries Institute Australia, Institute & Faculty of Actuaries, and Society of Actuaries (China Region Committee) with the support of local actuarial bodies, this Joint Regional Seminar is designed to assist actuaries and other professionals in meeting CPD requirements. THE SEMINAR Our theme this year for Asia's largest annual event for actuaries is "Insurance Products Going Beyond the Numbers". Our aim is to make this year somewhat different from the past by providing a non conventional/traditional actuarial seminar by giving you insights and perspectives from people outside of the day to day actuarial field. To help/encourage/stimulate wider thinking about insurance products. So our impressive panel of speakers will present and share with you their personal and/or corporate perspectives and insights on products and/or product development. The perennial search by insurers for the "killer product" continues. Some would say, however, don't keep trying to find "a product solution to a distribution problem". Wrapped within these statements is an endemic issue for insurers. We have become accepting of the situation that "insurance is sold and not bought", ie, our business and products are push rather than pull. But does it HAVE to be that way? What do customers need and want? In this seminar we will consider "product" and/or "product development" from a host of different perspectives as well as provide some ideas and food for thought on insurance products. The objective is to stimulate your thinking beyond that of your day to day thinking and activities related to "product". We aim to encourage you to think more widely than some actuaries are typically considered to do with respect to "product" and certainly that "product" is about much more than just actuarial pricing. WORKSHOP The workshop will cover several 'all in' universal business case studies through utilizing group discussions. CPD The Joint Regional Seminar qualifies for (Actuaries Institute Australia/ IFA/ SOA/ ASHK) Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Actuarial members may find it a useful contribution to their personal professional development. The amount of hours recorded is left to the discretion of the individual.
