6 APPENDIX 5: RESEARCH FINDINGS. 86 % of the interviewee s and 87 % of those wh o fille d th e questionnaire s accepte d that the community does not have MVCs and resource poor household inventories % of the interviewee, 96% of the respondents wh o filled th e questionnaires and 100% o f participant s attende d focu s grou p discussio n agree d tha t ther e i s a n increase of MVCs and they mentioned the causes that are lack of parental care (du e to famil y base d problems ) an d lac k o f community support (du e t o abjec t povert y and communit y irresponsibility as well a s HIV/AIDS) 82.1 % of the interviewees, 87% of those who filled th e questionnaires and 87.5% of respondents wh o participate d i n focu s grou p discussio n accepte d tha t th e community is not providing anything to support MVC, But only 10.7%, 11.8% and 12.5% o f the interviewee s who filled th e questionnaire s an d to those wh o attende d focus grou p discussion respectively accepted that few people in the community are supporting MVCs % of the interviewees, 94.1% of those wh o filled th e questionnaires and 97.5% of member s attende d focu s grou p discussio n accepted tha t MVC i s a community problem and it needs a collective measure to handle it. 77
