9 OHS Act 8.(1) Every employer shall provide and maintain, as far as is reasonably practicable, a working environment that is safe, and without risk to the health of his employees. 8.2.(e) providing such information, instructions, training and supervision as may be necessary to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety at work of his employees;

12 SANS IEC & Qualification of personnel The inspection and maintenance of installations shall be carried out only by experienced personnel, whose training has included instruction on the various types of protection and installation practices, the requirements of this standard, the relevant national regulations/company rules applicable to the installation and on the general principles of area classification (see Annex B). Appropriate continuing education or training shall be undertaken by personnel on a regular basis. Evidence of the relevant experience and training claimed shall be available.
