19 HB 2209: Policy Components Establishes that it is the policy of the State of Oregon to seek opportunities to: Enhance and expand cultivated shellfish production Conserve, protect and restore wild populations of native shellfish Improve water quality and the health of aquatic and marine habitats In furtherance of this policy, the state will develop and adopt a shellfish initiative
20 HB 2209: Policy Components Any person cultivating oysters, clams or mussels on public or private land in Oregon shall file an annual production/harvest report with ODA Individually identifiable information provided to ODA is a trade secret under ORS and is not subject to public disclosure The department may use and disclose the information in aggregated form
21 HB 2209: Appropriations $125,000 to Department of Agriculture for pilot project to increase frequency of water quality monitoring and analysis related to closure and opening of shellfish harvesting in Tillamook Bay $500,000 to Oregon State University for distribution to the Molluscan Broodstock Program and Hatchery for research activities related to shellfish and the effects of ocean acidification
