2 Report from SUN SelfAssessment exercise Background The SUN Movement principle is that all people have a right to food good. The SUN Movement unites people from governments, civil society, United Nations, donors, businesses researchers in a collective effort to improve. SUN countries are taking a collaborative approach, bringing toger people resources needed to rapidly scale up specific interventions as well as implement crosssector strategies that are sensitive. The constituent parts that make up SUN Movement at country level are expected engage through a MultipleStakeholder Platform (MSP) that includes Country in role of convener representatives from Donor Country Network, Civil Society Country Alliances, UN Country Network Business Network. s in SUN countries ir partners agree to take forward Four Processes that contribute to al outcomes. They are to: 1. Bring People Toger: Work toger, effectively, through functioning multisector, multistakeholder platform(s); 2. Put Policies in Place: Establish ( seek legislative endorsement for) a coherent policy legal ; 3. Implement & Align Programs: Identify common objectives agree a of results around which to align intensify actions; 4. Mobilize Resources: Mobilize sufficient domestic resources, supplemented with external assistance, to realize agreed results as quickly as possible. Agreement around a single set of results a Common Results Framework (CRF) serves as basis for developing, aligning securing approval for relevant plans which cover different sectors. National progress is strengned as SUN Focal Points from each country come toger in SUN Country Network. Through this Network, leaders in each SUN Country are able to share ir successes learn from or countries facing similar challenges. To support work underway in SUN Countries, global stakeholder Networks representing civil society, donors, United Nations businesses are working to shift resources align actions to help advance countryled efforts. In September 2012, SUN Movement Strategy was endorsed by SUN Lead Group, marking an important milestone in life of SUN Movement. A vital element of this strategy is understing that all actors across SUN Movement are mutually accountable for results of Movement as a whole for contribution of each individual constituent part that toger make up Movement. In order to track mutual accountability, a comprehensive SUN Movement M&E Framework has been agreed to measure results of Movement at three levels: impact, outcome output level. A baseline study, which sets out baseline for Movement at all three levels in September 2012, has been completed based on M&E Framework. The 2012 baseline will be used as a point of overall comparison, to systematically measure, account for, learn from progress of SUN Movement over next years. This workshop is part of monitoring of annual progress on country level. It was a participatory process that used tools methods that were developed by Global SUN Secretariat. REACH facilitators supported OPM in facilitating selfassessment process. 2
