5 Results of the consultation with businesses Most important PAs The Lithuanian communication event focussed on the topics Financial Services and Cohesion Poicy. The workshop dealing with Financial services attracted a larger part of the audience. Overall, the audience was competent to discuss both topics and provided the country team with logical and suitable recommendations. Suggestions for administrative burdens reduction All reduction proposals were collected through workshops and interviews during the measurement phase. Each participant of the conference received a printed presentation of Information Obligations, some examples of reductions proposals and the list of 5 routes of simplification. The moderators of the workshops organised discussions amongst business representatives. In addition, some representatives of line ministries participated in each workshop and expressed their opinion whether the provided proposals were realistic. A table of reduction ideas is provided on the following pages. The workshop discussions to gather reduction ideas were structured according to the 5 routes of simplification as illustrated in the following figure. Way to simplify 1 & 2 As most multinational banks are subsidiaries of foreign banks, the Bank of Lithuania 2 & 3 should trust the parent bank and the procedures implemented by it as the same procedures are implemented in subsidiaries. Inspectors performing on-the-spot inspections should print out the necessary 3 information by themselves. They could make the diagrams they need from given data themselves. Also information provided to them does not need to include signatures of the top management. Inspectors should perform inspection according to principle based supervision instead 2 of detailed control. Extend the period to provide information. Furthermore, supervision should be built on trust if the bank did not exhibit any discrepancies in the past. Fewer documents could be provided to the inspectors.
