2 Aim of the meeting : The aim of the conference is to officially present the senior level participants from all of the ENP partner countries with the vision and approach of ENPARD and to allow for an opportunity for a deeper discussion of this new initiative. Through the discussions and presentations provided during the conference, all partners shall reach a common understanding of how ENPARD can respond to the pressing problems of agriculture and rural area and how it can be tailored to national and regional needs. By assuring a high-level representation on the EU side (at Commissioner level), the meeting will demonstrate the EU's political commitment to the initiative and will also provide visibility for agriculture and rural development issues in the Neighbourhood. 2/6
