8 ~~~ TOWN OF UNON, WEST VRGNA Ordinance Number AN ORDNANCE ESTABLSHNG WATER RATES FOR WATER USERS OF THE TOWN OF UNON, WEST VRGNA. Whereas, the Town of Union, West Virginia is organized and established under the provisions of subdivision (32), and other provisions of the West Virginia Code, for the purpose of operating a water treatment and water supply distribution system serving water users within the boundaries of the municipality and water users who are not within the boundaries of the municipality, but are being served by Town; Whereas, West Virginia Code b and authorizes the Town to institute reasonable rates, services and fees for its water services; and, Whereas, The Town Council of Union, West Virginia has undertaken a study of its infrastructure and has determined that in order to obtain a stable source of safe, clean water to meet current and future needs, it needs to make incremental improvements to water system while pursuing funding to eventually replace its water treatment plant; and, Whereas, The Water production and water distribution system is antiquated and requires that various elements be modernized in order to reduce the cost of maintenance and upkeep of the outdated system; and, Whereas, The Town Council of Union, West Virginia has determined that it is necessary that current rates, charges and fees for the provision of water services to its water users be increased incrementally to reduce the initial impact of the necessary increases on its users; and, Whereas, The health, safety and welfare of the citizens and users of water provided by the Town of Union requires that the town ensure the production and distribution of clean water to its users; NOW; THEREFOREJ-BE-T ORD-AfNED BY THE-TCWN COUNCE OF THE TOWN OF UNON, WEST VRGNA, THAT:

The following water rates listed below shall be effective as soon as possible, but no sooner than forty-five days after final adoption and in accordance with West Virginia State Code and West Virginia Public Service Commission Rules: APPLCABLTY Applicable within the entire territory served. AVALABLTY Water services are available for general, domestic, commercial, industrial uses and bulk sales.
