SPEAKERS PROFILE Kefa is an Accounting graduate with over 20 years senior-level experience in banking, finance and risk management. He holds a diploma in Risk Management in Finance and Banking and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. Kefa has a unique resume that combines practical experience in Banking with Financial advisory services to corporates and SMEs. In Banking, he held various senior level positions in Risk Management and internal controls both at operational and strategic levels. As a senior Manager, he served in various Management and Board committees which imbued in him deep knowledge and understanding of the workings in operational as well as strategic Risk Management in Banking. He was also responsible for the performance of his teams and training needs identification and remediation. In advisory; he has developed a reputation as an accomplished trainer and consultant who has carried out various assignments in Corporate Advisory and Enterprise Risk Management in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya, Botswana, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Sierra Leone, among others. Kefa is quite visible in the advancement of the profession of the Risk Management profession and started the Kenyan Chapter of GARP (Global Association of Risk Professionals) and became its founding Regional Director (RD) of the chapter until 2016 when he relinquished the position to concentrate on running his private business.
