BUSINESS SERVICES 2018 SALARY & MARKET TRENDS REPORT POLAND
ROBOTICS & RECRUITMENT ROBOTICS & RECRUITMENT 1. THE SECTOR The Business Services Sector in Poland has been growing constantly, reaching over 250 000 employees and over 1000 centres, with a dynamics of approx. 100 new centres that began their operations in 2017. In 2017, over 45 centres reached the level of over 1000 employees, constituting one-third of the jobs in the entire sector. This is a fast dynamics and a highly competitive market from the recruitment standpoint. Over the years we have witnessed a transformation of the Polish Business Services industry from, originally a market of cheaper labour for processing massive, yet simple activities, into a fully developed market with one third of its workforce employed in IT, approximately 20% in Finance & Accounting & up to 20% in financial services, which is very important from the point of view of this report, as those processes are intertwined around the topics of automation, robotization and resulting evolution in recruitment. According to the Delloitte s report from 2015, robotization was a second top priority for the industry, with forecasts that it will actually remain a top 3 priority within 10 years. And we can see it actually happening, across many markets. In the Business Services Sector we already witness the trend going in two parallel vectors: both real-life robotization and automation of processes implemented in the business and also building an increasingly strong fin-tech start-up base. One can easily observe an increase in the number of hackathons, also those organised by major companies and organizations active in the field of Business Services. Major companies, not only from the software development sector, become interested in exploring the environment of start-ups. The segment then both utilizes and encourages new solutions to be created, clearly seeing the benefits. From the standpoint of a start-up building organization, having assisted approximately 50 new investments on the Polish market in 2017, we see that there is quite a considerable saturation of technology, software and technologyrelated service providers among the investors we have had the pleasure to work with. 8
