INTRODUCTION: Manufacturing growth has emerged as one of the high sectors in India. Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi, had launched the 'Make in India' program to place India on the world map as a manufacturing hub and give global recogni on to the Indian economy. MARKET SIZE : Indian manufacturing sector's gross value added at basic price based on 2011-12 price series was US$ 311.6 billion in 2016-17, as per the second advance es mates of Central Sta s cs Office. Manufacturing sector grew at a CAGR of 7.32 percent between FY12 and FY17. The sector grew 7.7 per cent in FY17. The wholesale price index, in respect of manufactured goods grew 2.4 percent between April 2016 and January 2017.
