No. Fin (Pen) A (3)-1/09- Part-I Government of Himachal Pradesh Finance (Pension) Department ****** Dated: Shimla-171002, 10 th March, 2011 Office Memorandum Subject: - Payment of arrear to Post-2006 retirees on account of Pension/Family Pension/Gratuity and Leave Encashment. In continuation to this Department s Office Memorandum of even number dated the 29 th March, 2010 and 2nd November, 2010 on the subject cited above, the Governor, Himachal Pradesh, is now pleased to order the payment of additional 20% of each element of Pension / Family pension / Gratuity and Leave Encashment arrears to those Government servants who had retired/died in harness on or after 1.1.2006. Thus, the total cumulative arrears released so far after taking into account the present release, shall amount to 40% of the total arrears accrued to the Post-2006 Pensioners/ Family Pensioners. 2. All the Drawing and Disbursing Officers of the Govt. Departments will ensure that the extra amount of Gratuity and Leave Encashment, if any, is adjusted from the arrears of respective elements and only balance amount may be paid to the Post-2006 Pensioners/ Family Pensioners. It shall be the responsibility of Drawing and Disbursing Officers/ /Pension Disbursing Authorities including Public Sector Banks that 20% of total arrears of each element of pension/family pension/gratuity and leave encashment as stated in para 1 above, is drawn and disbursed to the pensioners/family pensioners by 15 th March, 2011 by all means. 4. In the case of Government employees or pensioners who have unfortunately died, the entire outstanding amount of arrears on account of pension/family pension/gratuity/leave encashment, shall be paid in cash to the family/legal heir(s)/nominee(s)) as the case may be within one month.
