CARE has more than 50 years of experience in both emergency relief and long-term development efforts. In 2004, CARE International: - operated in 65 countries - in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe - employed over 13.000 people, of which more than 12.000 are nationals - supported projects worth over 622 million US$ during FY 04 - spent 88% of its total revenues on program activities - reached 32 million beneficiaries
