Compensation Gentex total compensation is engineered specifically for those of us wired with an ownership mentality mindset. The Gentex benefits plan is a flexible program that allows our employees to choose the benefits that best suit their lifestyle and financial needs. Fixed Compensation Variable Compensation The benefits group in Human Resources carefully considers each component of the benefits package. Our goal is to provide incentives that keep you healthy and protect your finances if an unexpected emergency occurs. It s just one way we demonstrate Gentex s devotion to quality. SALARY Effective on your date of hire Generally the main compensation tool for most companies... but not at Gentex. RETIREMENT SAVINGS PLAN 401(K) Eligible after 60 days of service We offer a traditional 401k account or a Roth 401k account. Gentex matches employee 401k contributions at 100% of the first 3% of your compensation, and 50% of the next 2% of your compensation, for that year. The funds are 100% vested. PROFIT SHARING BONUS Effective on your date of hire A quarterly profit sharing bonus dependent on company earnings is shared with all employees for wages paid during the previous quarter. STOCK OPTIONS Can be exercised upon vesting This is an employee ownership benefit. As the stock grows, so does this element of compensation. Options vest over time and employees receive new grants annually. Vested stock options can be exercised at will by the employee. EMPLOYEE STOCK PURCHASE PLAN After one year of service Gentex stock can be purchased at 85% of fair market value through payroll deductions and/or lump sum contributions.

Medical Medical benefits are an important part of the Gentex total compensation plan. Our program is built around the idea that living a healthy lifestyle is the best way to reduce the high cost of medical care. Gentex leaders work to model this philosophy and the company has created a culture of wellness where healthy choices are available to our team members. Our organization partners with the medical community to set performance-based biometric goals for our team members and their spouses. When those are met, Gentex families enjoy a substantial reduction in weekly medical premiums. You will see these numbers reflected in our Right Stuff program, outlined on the next page. We offer five different coverage levels to meet the individual needs of you and your dependents. u Employee u Employee and spouse u Employee and child u Employee and children u Full family ELIGIBILITY Employees become eligible for the Gentex benefits plans on their date of hire. After making initial elections, team members have the opportunity to change those elections each year during open enrollment. SPOUSAL ELIGIBILITY If your spouse works full-time time and is eligible for medical coverage through his or her employer, they will not be eligible for medical and prescription drug coverage under the Gentex Corporation Employee Welfare Benefits Plan. DEPENDENT CHILDREN ELIGIBILITY Any eligible dependents by birth, legal adoption or guardianship are eligible for coverage until the end of the month during which the child attains age 26. DECLINING GENTEX MEDICAL INSURANCE The Affordable Healthcare Act requires U.S. citizens to have medical coverage. However, if you have qualifying medical coverage through a spouse or parent, Gentex will provide you a $9.62 credit each week in your paycheck to help subsidize your other medical coverage. The Right Stuff Gentex Corporation rewards employees and their covered spouses who are enrolled in the Gentex health plan and who are actively working toward managing or improving their personal health. If you join Gentex in 2018 you will have an opportunity to earn pro-rated credits. Watch for the 2018 Right Stuff forms to save money on medical insurance premiums. Gentex uses federally mandated guidelines for allowable expenses for this account. You may deposit up to $2,650 per year for your family s needs. LIMITED HEALTH CARE For employees enrolled in Plan 3, members will be allowed to set aside pre-tax dollars (in addition to your Health Savings bank account) for dental and vision out-ofpocket expenses. You may deposit up to $2,650 per year for your family s needs. DEPENDENT CARE This flexible spending account is available regardless of medical coverage and is funded by weekly payroll deductions. Pre-tax dollars can be used to pay expenses for your legal dependents who use licensed day care facilities. You may deposit up to $5,000 per year for your family s needs. On-site Clinic Gentex works with local providers to bring discounted, easily accessible health services to our team members. The clinic is for non-work related health concerns, regardless of the Gentex medical plan that you have. Health Saving Bank Account For employees enrolled in Plan 3, members can set aside funds tax-free to use for any health qualified expenses, including but not limited to, medical, vision, dental out-of-pocket expenses including orthodontia, co-insurance and prescription drugs. Unused balance in the account rolls over tax-free from year to year and can be used even if you elect a non-qualifying high deductible plan in the future. Gentex will match employee HSA contributions for those who contribute $9.62 or more per week to a max of $125 every quarter.

Life Insurance EMPLOYEE This insurance pays a benefit to your named beneficiaries upon your death. Because your participation is required, Gentex pays the insurance premium for coverage in the amount of your base salary. Additional coverage is optional and available in increments of your annual base salary. If you experience an accidental dismemberment, a portion of this benefit may be paid to help support your rehabilitation. Voluntary Short-Term Disability Voluntary Short-Term Disability Insurance offers temporary income replacement in the event you are ill or injured outside of the workplace. This coverage is voluntary, which means you pay 100% of the premiums which can be conveniently paid through payroll deduction on an after-tax basis. Please note there is a seven day elimination period and the maximum benefit duration is 12 weeks. Pre-existing conditions apply for this coverage. Voluntary Critical Illness Insurance Critical Illness coverage can pay you a lump sum benefit in the instance of a serious illness such as a stroke, heart attack, or a complete loss of hearing. Maximum coverage level: $50,000 Age limit for coverage is 26 Age limit for coverage is 80 Long-Term Disability This insurance provides 60% of your weekly base salary up to $8,000 in the case of a medical disability. The benefit becomes payable on the 91st day of continuous disability. Voluntary Hospital Indemnity A supplemental insurance plan that pays a lump sum benefit for hospital confinements over 24 hours. It can be used however you choose for the expenses health insurance does not cover, such as a deductible or copay. This insurance is guaranteed issue even if you have a known illness or planned hospital stay. Required Your Cost 60% of pay to $8,000/month $0

Other technical courses like PLC programming, CATIA and Minitab are delivered in the Center for Learning and Development. EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE We offer 100% reimbursement up to $5,250/year for courses plus cost of books related to professional development with a B- grade or better. Additional Benefits ADOPTION ASSISTANCE After 90 days of employment Gentex reimburses 80% of qualified adoption expenses up to a maximum of $4,000.
