Charge Card: AMERICAN EXPRESS PERSONAL CARD August 2012 1. What is this product about? This is a charge card with no preset limit that can be used to make payments for goods and services at participating merchants either, locally or internationally. Payment for the card account must be made in full before due date. 2. What do I get from this product? Earn 2x Membership Rewards points on everyday spend. Access to over 200 reward items from Membership Rewards Programme Express AutoPay Complimentary Travel Personal Accident and Travel Inconvenience Insurance if you charge your travel fares in full to your Card Emergency cheque cashing Global Assistance : o Lost or stolen Card replacement - usually within the next business day o Reconfirmation of airline tickets o Airline flight rescheduling o Car rental reservations o Hotel reservations o Sightseeing arrangements 3. What are my obligations? Outstanding balance must be settled in full by due date. The Cardholder should notify Maybank within 20 days from the closing date of billing period as stated on the statement ofthe account should there be disputes or discrepancies. To take all reasonable precaution to prevent loss or theft of the charge Card. If the charge card is lost or stolen the Cardholder shall notify Maybank by telephone, fax or email immediately upon discovery of lost or theft and confirm the same in writing to Maybank. The Principal Cardholder will be responsible and liable for all charges incurred by the supplementary Cardholder. 4. What are the fees and charges I have to pay? when the conversion is done by American Express, be converted into U.S. Dollars before being converted into your billing currency. What if I fail to fulfill my obligations? Late payment charges: 3.5% of the outstanding repayment due, subject to a minimum of RM50, whichever is greater. Right to set-off any credit balance in your account maintained with us against any outstanding balance in this charge card account. Liability for unauthorized transactions Recovery through litigation process For loss or theft of the charge card, until and unless written confirmation has been received by Maybank, the Cardholder shall be remaining liable for all charges incurred. 6. What are the major risks? You are required to settle the full amount by the due date. If you do not settle the full amount, you would incur higher interest rate charges on the charge card balances compared to credit card. Think about your repayment capacity when charging the charge card. If you have problems paying for your charge card balances, contact us early to discuss repayment alternatives. You should notify us immediately after having found that your charge card is lost or stolen. 7. What do I need to do if there are changes to my contact details? It is important that you inform us of any change in your contact details to ensure that all correspondences reach you in a timely manner.
