Arizna Chapter, American Planning Assciatin Duties and Respnsibilities Bard f Directrs - The Bard shall: (a) manage the affairs f the Chapter; (b) adpt a budget fr the chapter; (c) Reprt t the membership upn all business which it has cnsidered r acted upn between chapter meetings; (d) put int effect the vtes f the chapter; (e) authrize expenditures cnsistent with the budget; and (f) perfrm such ther functins as are delegated herein r by the members f the chapter. The individual respnsibilities f the Bard f Directrs shall be as fllws: President. The President shall: Call, rganize, and preside at meetings f the Bard, the Executive Cmmittee and the membership. Prvide leadership n the develpment f Chapter plicies in crdinatin with the Bard and the Executive Cmmittee. With assistance frm the President Elect and Treasurer, prepare an annual budget fr apprval by the Bard f Directrs. Crdinate the review and update f the Chapter Develpment Plan and Wrk Prgram by the Bard f Directrs. The President shall have the authrity t speak n behalf f the Chapter n legislative pririties that have been adpted by the Bard; the President may als authrize the President Elect, Chair f the Legislative Cmmittee, and/r the Past President t represent the Chapter n legislative affairs. The President shall create, appint, and discharge all Chapter cmmittee Chairpersns except fr chairpersns f standing cmmittees prvided in these Bylaws, and the President shall be a member f all standing and ptinal cmmittees created by the chapter. Vice President fr Prfessinal Develpment - The Vice President fr Prfessinal Develpment shall be a member f AICP and shall: Serve as the chapter s Prfessinal Develpment Officer (PDO) Create and chair the Prfessinal Develpment Cmmittee t assist in the implementatin f the Prfessinal Develpment Prgram Develp and maintain a cntinuing prfessinal educatin prgram, ffering six prfessinal develpment wrkshps each year, ne f which is the pre-cnference wrkshp, and five being lcated within the Phenix Metr Area and ne in Tucsn Metr Area. These 6 wrkshps shuld prvide pprtunity fr 21 CM credits. Identify the annual prfessinal develpment prgram with dates and tpics in January f each year fr Bard input. At Large Directrs - At Large Directrs shall: (a) represent diverse cnstituent and gegraphic areas f the state; and (b) serve at the pleasure f the President as chair r members n any f several cmmittees including, Legislative, Annual Cnference, Student Affairs, Newsletter, Membership Directr, Nminatins, Awards, Prfessinal Develpment r thers. The Student Affairs Directr shall: Establish a Student Affairs Cmmittee Organize and carry ut the 2008 Student Schlarship/Financial Assistance Prgram Wrk with each schl prgram directr t determine the type f student final assistance apprpriate fr that planning prgram. Prepare and distribute the schlarship applicatins in December. Cntact each planning prgram directr t encurage maximum student knwledge f the schlarship prgram and r make arrangement fr alternative financial assistance. Hld a meeting f the schlarship cmmittee t make the awards. Encurage the students awarded schlarships t attend the cnference t be hnred.
