TRAVELERS Global business demands an insurance carrier with a leading network of local partners and platforms to deliver coverage and service that is right for each market. That s Travelers. An increasingly global marketplace The global marketplace continues to change quickly with more and more U.S. businesses finding ways to trade globally. Over 80% of the world s purchasing power and 95% of the world s consumers are outside of the United States and therefore it s no surprise that over 304,000 U.S. companies export their products globally and that 33% of U.S. CEOs saying in 05 that they planned to complete a cross-border merger and acquisition deal in the future. In addition the United States imports $.73 trillion 3 of goods and services from countries overseas. U.S. companies can be at risk from global exposures long before they consider opening an office in another country or partnering with an overseas firm. Common exposures include employees traveling internationally, selling products or services to customers outside the U.S., or buying products, materials, or finished goods from an overseas supplier. The number of U.S. students studying abroad for credit during the 04-05 academic year Up.9% from 304,467 students to 33,45 students 4 Americans living and working overseas 5 7m-8m Estimated Imports Leading import partners China.5% Mexico 3.% $.73tr Canada 3.% Japan Germany (05) 6 5.9% 5.5% Exports Leading export partners Canada 8.6% China 7.7% $.5tr (05 est.) That s our best network philosophy. Property & Casualty Local carrier network Global Companion is a package policy designed for U.S. firms that have foreign exposures and want to ensure that their local protection is consistent with U.S. standards. We combined property and liability products to create a solution for companies with small to large international exposures. Travelers has been a leading member of the INI Network since 989 and is the exclusive member in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. SM Features include: Policy pricing and conditions negotiated in home country Claims submitted and paid in home country No local involvement Controlled Master Programs (CMPs) are tailored for companies that have established operations abroad and require local policies to comply with an individual country s statutory insurance requirements. TRAVELERS Compliance Knowledge First Compliance is local and dynamic Travelers puts compliance knowledge first to protect our customers. Compliance is a full-time job. When you think about all of the local regulations and issues country-by-country, state-by-state all the way down to the local community, businesses need a partner who excels at knowing and applying these to their business. At Travelers, our underwriters are embedded in the markets they support. Example: China China, officially the People s Republic of China (PRC), in Asia, is the world s most populous country, with a population of over.38 billion. It exercises jurisdiction over provinces, five autonomous regions, four direct-controlled municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chongqing), two mostly self-governing special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau).* Seamless service and solutions Seamless service and solutions save money and keep business focused on business. Running businesses across a few or many markets introduces complexity and can often slow down business. Travelers is committed to delivering multinational insurance services as part of a domestic solution including a single point of contact. We focus on delivering consistent coverage and sorting the complexity so that you don t have to. Financial strength, today and tomorrow Travelers financial strength means we will be there when our customers need us most, in the U.S. and across the world. We manage our resources to ensure we are there for our customers today and tomorrow. Our beginnings in 853, our combined revenue of $7 billion, our 30,000 employees, 3,000 independent agents and business in over 5 countries are all a part of that solid foundation.
