INTRODUCTION AND METHODOLOGY In the fall f 2015, as a part f Mendcin Cunty s HHSA Public Health Accreditatin prcess, a Quality Imprvement prject was prpsed cnsisting f an Emplyee Satisfactin Survey. The survey wuld allw Public Health emplyees t vice their pinins and t identify strengths and challenges within Public Health prgram areas. The survey was based n previus surveys cnducted by Public Health in 2006 and 2010. The survey cnsisted f a ttal f 43 categries, with multiple statements in each categry. Fr 23 f the categries, respndents were asked t pick the answer that mst clsely resembled hw they felt using a Likert Scale f 1 t 5; with Strngly Disagree, Disagree, Neither Agree nr Disagree, Agree and Strngly Agree as chices. In the final analysis, categries 1 and 2, and 4 and 5 were cmbined t mre clearly represent the trend f the respnses in graphicalfrm. Arund the time the survey was being prpsed, HHSA underwent a change in upper-level management. As the survey was being prepared t release t Public Health emplyees in May 2016, the new HHSA Directr suggested expanding the survey t allw all HHSA emplyees t participate. The survey was vluntary, annymus and cnfidential, and was available n-line fr HHSA emplyees t cmplete frm June 2016 t August 2016. There were als 9 qualitative questins where emplyees culd write in their answers. These questins were themed and put int categries when the survey results were analyzed t maintain cnfidentiality and annymity. At the end f the survey there were ptinal questins abut demgraphics. In the final analysis, sme f these categries were cmbined int Other categries t maintain cnfidentiality and annymity. The survey was respnded t by 437 ut f 489 HHSA emplyees in the summer f 2016

In Cnclusin: The Emplyee Satisfactin Survey revealed challenges such as salaries and staffing, imprving cmmunicatin and upgrading equipment. And it als revealed the strengths and great dedicatin f HHSA emplyees t helping the peple f Mendcin Cunty. The survey was a snapsht-in-time f staff pinins during a perid f change within HHSA. The survey will be cnducted again in 2018.
