SINGAPORE POOLS (PRIVATE) LIMITED 210 MIDDLE ROAD, #01-01 SINGAPORE POOLS BUILDING, SINGAPORE 188994 RULES FOR THE SINGAPORE SWEEP LOTTERY The following Rules are laid down by Singapore Pools (Private) Limited for The Singapore Sweep Lottery. 1 Objective To participate in The Singapore Sweep Lottery, an intending Participant has to purchase a Ticket for the Relevant Draw. The correct matching of the Ticket Number (or such part thereof as may be provided for in these Rules) with a winning number drawn under these Rules shall qualify the Participant for a prize as provided in these Rules. 2 Interpretation In these Rules unless the context otherwise requires:- Company means SINGAPORE POOLS (PRIVATE) LIMITED, and includes its employees, servants, authorised retailers, agents, contractors and representatives, and/or any of the Company s successors and assigns. Dollar(s) means the lawful currency of the Republic of Singapore. Outlet means the retail outlet and/or branch operated by the Company at which prizes or refunds may be claimed. Participant means a person who takes part in The Singapore Sweep Lottery by purchasing the Ticket, and shall include any person who claims a prize or prizes or refunds from the Company. Registered Office means the registered office of the Company at 210 Middle Road, #01-01 Singapore Pools Building, Singapore 188994. Relevant Draw means the draw indicated in the Ticket purchased or held by the Participant. Singapore Sweep Lottery means The Singapore Sweep Lottery game conducted by the Company under these Rules Rules for The Singapore Sweep Lottery Page 1 of 7
Ticket means The Singapore Sweep Lottery ticket issued by the Company in relation to the Relevant Draw and sold under these Rules. Ticket Number means the 7-digit number between 1000000 and 4499999 (both numbers inclusive) and the letter of the alphabet printed on the face of the Ticket. 3 Draws 3.1 Draws shall be held at such place, on such date, at such time and in such manner as may be decided by the Company. 3.2 Each draw shall have a draw number and this number shall be printed on the Tickets for that draw. 3.3 If during the course of any draw, any fault or failure shall occur in any associated equipment utilised for such draw, the Company may in its absolute discretion declare such number or numbers as duly drawn or so much of the draw as at such time been completed as void and commence a new draw whether using the same equipment or otherwise. Upon the declaration of a draw as void as aforesaid, the same shall be deemed not to have taken place. 4 Price of Ticket 4.1 Tickets shall be priced and sold at three (3) Dollars each or at such other price as shall be determined by the Company from time to time. 4.2 The price paid for a Ticket under these Rules shall not be refundable unless otherwise provided in these Rules. 4.3 The price paid for a Ticket shall include the Goods and Services Tax (GST). 5 Prizes and Winning Numbers 5.1 A Ticket shall win a prize or prizes if there is a correct matching of the following: the 7-digit number of the Ticket Number matches with one or more of the 7-digit winning combinations drawn; and/or the last two digits of the Ticket Number matches with one or more of the winning 2-digit combinations drawn. For the avoidance of doubt, in the event of any discrepancy between the digits and the words (including any abbreviations of words) of the Ticket Number, the digits shall prevail. 5.2 The prizes, winning numbers and prize amounts for any draw under these Rules shall be as follows: Singapore Sweep Lottery Prize Number of Winning Numbers Prize Amount First Prize one 7-digit number $2,300,000 Second Prize one 7-digit number $ 500,000 Third Prize one 7-digit number $ 250,000 Jackpot Prizes ten 7-digit numbers $ 10,000 each Lucky Prizes ten 7-digit numbers $ 5,000 each Gift Prizes thirty 7-digit numbers $ 3,000 each Consolation Prizes thirty 7-digit numbers $ 2,000 each Participation Prizes fifty 7-digit numbers $ 1,000 each Two-Digit Delight Prizes Three hundred & fifteen thousand 2-digit numbers $ 6 each 5.3 In the event of a number winning more than one prize, the holder of the Ticket bearing that number shall be entitled to all such prizes. 6 Claim for Payment of Prize 6.1 Any prize may be claimed by presenting a Ticket bearing the winning number(s), the Relevant Draw date and Relevant Draw number ( the Winning Ticket ):- to the Company at the Company's Registered Office; or to any of the Outlets for payment of such amount as may be limited by the Company from time to time. 6.2 A prize must be claimed in person during normal business hours at the Company s Registered Office and/or at any of the Outlets. 6.3 The Company may require a Participant to produce his identity card or other document of identity that is acceptable to the Company. Where the prize to be claimed exceeds such amount as may be limited by the Company from time to time, the Company may also require the Participant to submit to the Company a duly completed claim form obtainable from the Company. 6.4 No person shall be entitled to claim the prize payable in respect of any Winning Ticket except upon presentation of that Ticket. 6.5 No prize shall be payable unless the Winning Ticket is a Ticket which complies with all the conditions in Rule 7.1. 6.6 Any prize not claimed within one hundred and eighty (180) days from the date of the Relevant Draw shall be forfeited. 6.7 Without prejudice to Rule 9.3 herein, if the Company receives written notification of a dispute as to the rightful ownership of any Winning Ticket before payment of a prize to the person producing the Winning Ticket (such notification to contain the full details of the said dispute), the Company may (but is not obliged to), in its sole unfettered decision, withhold the payment of the prize pending the Company s decision on the rightful ownership of the Winning Ticket. The Company s decision in such an event shall be final and conclusive. No disputes other than those notified to the Company strictly in compliance with this Rule shall be entertained by the Company. 6.8 For the avoidance of doubt, without prejudice to the generality of Rule 11.3 herein, the Company, its officers, servants, employees and/or agents shall not be liable in any way whatsoever to any party, and in particular, any Participant, in respect of any payment of the prize to a Participant presenting a Winning Ticket, notwithstanding a written notification in accordance with Rule 6.7 above. 7 Valid Ticket Requirements 7.1 In order to qualify for payment of any prize under these Rules, a Winning Ticket must satisfy all the following conditions:- (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) The Ticket must have been issued by the Company; All the particulars of the Ticket (including but not limited to the Ticket Number and draw number) must be legibly and correctly printed on the Ticket; The Ticket must not be torn, mutilated, defaced or disfigured in any way; The Ticket must not be altered or tampered with in any manner; The Ticket must satisfy all the Company s security checks for that Ticket; The Company must not have previously paid one or more prizes in respect of a Ticket with identical number and particulars; and There must not be a breach of any terms in these Rules in relation to the Ticket which in the opinion of the Company justifies disqualification. 7.2 The Company s decision as to whether or not a Ticket has satisfied all the conditions in Rule 7.1 shall be final and conclusive and shall be binding on the person presenting that Ticket for payment. 7.3 If a Ticket complies with all the conditions as set out in Rule 7.1 except the condition under Rule 7.1 (c), a claim for any prize won by that Ticket shall be considered by the Company and the decision of the Company on payment of the prize or otherwise shall be final and conclusive and binding on the person presenting that Ticket for payment. This Rule 7.3 shall be without prejudice to the generality of Rule 7.2. 7.4 For the avoidance of doubt, this Rule 7 shall not limit, exclude or prejudice the other conditions set out in Rule 6 and elsewhere in the Rules (and vice versa) which need to be satisfied before a Ticket is payable under these Rules. 7.5 The date of expiry of any Tickets issued shall be stipulated by the draw date as printed on the Ticket whereby the Ticket shall not be valid for resale after the expiry of such a date by any person, agent or any Authorised Retailer, whether knowingly or otherwise. 7.6 The Company shall not be liable for the wrongful distribution by its agents or Authorised Retailers of any expired (spent) Ticket and the Company shall not be liable to make prize payment on any expired (spent) Tickets that were issued whether knowingly or otherwise after the date of expiry. 8 Refund If a Ticket for a particular draw:- (c) bears an illegible or incomplete Ticket Number or bears no Ticket Number; bears an illegible or incomplete draw number or bears no draw number; or has particulars illegibly or incorrectly printed; the Company shall refund three (3) Dollars or such other price of the Ticket as may be determined by the Company from time to time to the person presenting such a Ticket to the Company before that draw. 9 Payment of Prize 9.1 Payment of prizes for any draw shall be made on such days as shall be decided by the Company. 9.2 The mode of payment of a prize (whether in cash (physical or electronic) or by cheque or bank draft or telegraphic transfer, etc.) shall be decided by the Company from time to time. 9.3 The payment of any prize won by a Ticket to the person presenting that Ticket shall constitute a complete discharge of the Company s liability in respect of that Ticket. 10 Alterations and Notification 10.1 The Company may at its discretion and at anytime alter, for any particular draw, the price of the Tickets and/or the prizes offered (including but not limited to offering additional non-monetary prizes) for that draw or the entire prize structure of the Game. 10.2 Any alterations made pursuant to Rule 10.1 above shall, before the Tickets for that particular draw or the draw that is first affected by the change in the prize structure are placed on sale, be published in such medium (such as the Company s website) as the Company may decide. 10.3 In the event of any alteration in the prizes offered for any draw or draws, the amount, if any, shall, upon such alteration, be dealt with in such manner as the Company may decide. 11 General 11.1 Subject to Rule 12, these Rules shall apply to every draw of The Singapore Sweep Lottery and shall be the terms and conditions governing the contract between the Company and a Participant. 11.2 The Company may amend these Rules at any time and in any manner. 11.3 The Company, its officers, agents or servants and authorised retailers shall not be under any liability to a Participant, for any reason whatsoever including but not limited to the following:- (c) the loss of a Ticket; any payment made to the holder of a Ticket where he alleges that such payment is made to the wrong person; and/or reliance upon any omission, inaccurate information or statement concerning any matter whatsoever relating to the Participant or to the Company or any other matter whatsoever. unless such liability is caused by the wilful act or default of the Company, its agents or servants or authorised retailers. 11.4 No person shall be recognised by the Company as holding any Ticket upon trust for some other person or persons and the Company shall not be bound or required to recognise any interest in respect of any Ticket other than the absolute right of the holder of the Ticket to the entire Ticket. 11.5 No person under the age of eighteen (18) years shall be allowed to purchase a Ticket or to claim any prize in connection with a Winning Ticket under these Rules. 11.6 The purchase of a Ticket and/or claiming of a prize shall bind a Participant to these Rules, and the Participant acknowledges such binding effect. In purchasing a Ticket and/or claiming the prize, a Participant agrees to comply with and abide by the provisions in these Rules and all instructions, directions and procedures established by the Company for the conduct of the draw and the Game. 11.7 All disputes not specifically covered by these Rules may be referred to the Company whose decision thereon shall be final and conclusive. 11.8 All payments made under these Rules shall be in Singapore dollars only. 11.9 The Company may from time to time conduct lucky draws or scratch card games or any other games to give out monetary and/or non-monetary prizes based on rules set by the Company. 11.10 The Participant is wholly responsible for the safekeeping of his purchased Ticket and the Company shall not be liable for any loss of Tickets nor shall the Company be required to make prize payment on the said lost Ticket. Participants shall not be entitled to make any claim for prize(s) payment without the winning Ticket.. 12 The draws to which these Rules apply Subject to Rule 11.2, these Rules shall apply to Singapore Sweep Draw No. 02/2013 and all subsequent Singapore Sweep draws. All previous Rules relating to the conduct of Singapore Sweep Draw shall cease to apply with effect from Singapore Sweep Draw 05/2013.
