Rölli Auktionen & Philatelie: A Success Story Over a period of 60 years Rolf and Beatrice Rölli developed a passion for stamps. They learnt their craft from the ground upwards and their hobby became a profession. In 1975, they founded our auction house. Since 1987, their daughter Christina Bamford-Rölli has worked in the company. Business partner Peter Suter then joined the business in 2003. In 2004 the business was handed over to the second generation of the family. We run our company with great personal commitment and continue with our passion for philately. Insurance All Items are covered by All risk insurance for posted items as well as hand delivered items. Assessment of lots Following expert processing you will receive a detailed lot description with an estimate of the potential achievable auction price. At this point corrections to the description can still be made. Website Five weeks before the auction our catalogue is published on our website as a database with all necessary search functions, as well as in PDF format. Our international clientele is informed by newsletter as soon as the data is available on our website. Our auction is also listed on philasearch.com: a platform for over 10,000 philatelists. Catalogue Four weeks prior to the auction the auction catalogue is despatched to our 4,000 clients and 250 suppliers. Auction Our auctions are public and take place in our spacious head offices. Over 1,000 bidders take part in person, by written bids, by telephone or live over the internet. Auction results report The results are regularly updated on our website during the auction. The week after the auction you will receive a list of achieved prices. Delivery to the Buyer Lots are despatched within one week of the auction. Unsold lots We sell approximately 90% of the auctioned lots. Lots which did not sell at the auction can be purchased during three weeks after the auction at the starting price plus commission. Unsold lots may also be included in the next auction. Payment Six weeks after the auction we issue the final statement. At the same time the payment will follow by banker s order. Immediately we will be able to advise you of the best sales channel for your collection or items. During the discussion they will inform you of their initial observations, the consultation should take between 15 and 60 minutes. At the end of the consultation there will be a mutual agreement on the best way to proceed. Once you trust the collection to us, you will be given a handwritten signed contract. As a guide our consultation fees are between CHF 50 and CHF 200 for a comprehensive valuation with a written report on request. Our services an overview International Auction Our main auction takes place twice a year. It is the ideal sales platform for inherited items, collections and exclusive items from all over the world. A comprehensive cata logue is sent to 4,000 customers. Our international clientele are able to participate in our auction either in person, in writing, by phone or live over the internet. Online Auction These auctions, staged several times a year offer collectors the opportunity to bid for philatelic gems and postcards. The lots are lovingly and sensitively compiled and presented in a small catalogue for our Swiss customers. You can participate in these auctions either online or in writing. Chinese Redband letter auctioned at the 52nd Rolli auction for CHF 11,500 Retail Carin Schärer will competently look after you and has a great aptitude for sensing your individual requirements. We can offer you a comprehensive selection of stamps from around the world as well as across all themes and postal history items. We acquire stamps valid for FPP from inheritance lots and can offer them at 5% discount of the face value.
