Setting up the Creative Pensin Trust - Mneysft User Guide Nte: This guide has been designed t wrk with the latest versin f Payrll Manager. The area f 'Aut Enrlment' is fast mving, and we are adding extra features / sftware mdificatins n a regular basis. We wuld encurage yu t update yur versin f Payrll Manager befre prceeding with this guide. (Click 'Help' then 'Prgram Update' frm the main menu in Payrll Manager t update). New legislatin n wrkplace pensins ('Autmatic Enrlment') brings many new duties fr the emplyer. This guide is NOT designed t infrm yu f these new duties. Yu shuld cnsult with Creative Pensin Trust in rder t fully understand what is required. This guide is specifically designed t shw hw t use Payrll Manager with Creative Pensin Trust pensins and is split int 5 sectins: 1. Yur Staging date 2. Adding the details f yur Pensin Scheme 3. Adding Emplyees t the pensin scheme 4. Pensin Cntributins 5. Prducing CSV uplad files t send t Creative Pensin Trust 1- Staging Date Every emplyer has a date frm when the autmatic enrlment duties cme int frce fr their business. This is called an emplyer s 'staging date'. If yu already knw yur staging date then enter it by clicking 'Emplyer' frm the main menu, then 'Emplyer Details', then click n the 'Aut-Enrlment pensins' tab.
If yu d nt yet knw yur staging date then please refer t The Pensins Regulatr website www.tpr.gv.uk/staging which includes a tl fr finding this ut. The 'Aut-Enrlment pensins' screen als cntains bxes where yu can enter a 'Re-enrlment date' and a 'Deferment / pstpnement date' It is imprtant that yu enter yur staging date int Payrll Manager befre prceeding further. The Re-enrlment date' field shuld be left blank at this stage. (Re-enrlment relates t the autmatic enrlment f wrkers wh may have pted ut f yur pensin scheme, and des nt take place until 3 years fllwing yur staging date). The Creative Pensin Trust pstpnes all emplyers fr a perid f 3 mnths frm the staging date, s yu shuld enter this date in the 'Defer/pstpne until' bx (e.g. if yur staging date was 1st April 2015 the date t be entered wuld be 1st July 2015). Please cntact Creative Pensin Trust help desk if yu are unsure abut this. Click 'OK' t save this infrmatin. 2 - Adding Pensin Scheme details Click 'Pensins' frm the main menu, then click 'Pensin Scheme Details'
Click n the first available tab alng the tp f this screen. Name - This will appear n the Pay Details screen and n all reprts. Enter Creative Pensin Trust in this field. Reference - An ptinal field where yu can add yur wn reference t appear n reprts. Yu can leave this field blank if yu wish. Prvider type - Select the pensin prvider frm the drp-dwn list. i.e 'Creative Pensin Trust' Tax Relief There are 4 available ptins: N tax relief - d NOT select this ptin Basic rate tax relief at surce - d NOT select this ptin
Net pay arrangement - Select this ptin, as ALL Creative Pensin Trust schemes perate under the Net Pay Arrangement scheme. Salary sacrifice/exchange - d NOT select this ptin Additinal Vluntary Cntributins (AVCs): This pensin has AVCs -This bx shuld be Ticked fr Creative Pensin Trust. Net pay arrangement fr AVCs - This bx shuld be Ticked fr Creative Pensin Trust. Earnings basis - there are 2 ptins: % apply t all pensinable pay - leave this un-checked fr Creative Pensin Trust. % apply t banded qualifying earnings nly - yu shuld Select this ptin fr all Creative Pensin Trust schemes. The fields n the right hand side f the screen (Address, Pstcde, Telephne etc.) are nt used fr aut-enrlment purpses and s can be left blank. If yu wish t, yu culd recrd yur pensin scheme details here fr reference. Click 'OK' t save this infrmatin. 3 - Adding Emplyees t the pensin scheme Frm the main menu click 'Emplyees' then 'Emplyee Details' then click n the 'Aut-Enrlment pensins' tab.
The fllwing details need t be set fr all existing emplyees and fr new jiners as they cmmence emplyment. Exclude frm assessment - This bx is un-ticked by default. If yu have individuals n the payrll that are nt deemed t be subject t Autmatic Enrlment legislatin (e.g. they are nt rdinarily wrking in the UK) then yu can exclude them frm the assessment prcess by ticking this bx. Creative Pensin Trust have requested that yu cntact their help desk fr clarificatin befre selecting this ptin. Aut-enrlment pensin - Chse 'Creative Pensin Trust' frm the drp-dwn list. Yu shuld nw prceed t sectin 5 f this guide ('Prducing csv uplad files') and send yur emplyee data t Creative Pensin Trust fr them t carry ut the
emplyee assessment. Creative Pensin Trust will then advise yu f hw and when t cmplete the fllwing fields: Defer/pstpne until - Leave this field blank initially. Creative Pensin Trust will advise yu f this date if Date jined - Leave this field blank initially. Creative Pensin Trust will advise yu f this date if Date left - If the emplyee leaves the pensin scheme then enter the leaving date here, therwise leave this field blank. Date pted ut - Leave this field blank initially. Creative Pensin Trust will advise yu f this date if Date pted in - Leave this field blank initially. Creative Pensin Trust will advise yu f this date if Wait until next re-enrlment date t re-assess - Leave this field blank initially. Creative Pensin Trust will advise yu f this date if Set cntributins % - This buttn allws yu t enter the pensin cntributins fr an emplyee. Yu culd als enter these cntributins n the 'Pay Details' screen. Sectin 4 'Pensin Cntributins' cvers this in mre detail. Date letters sent (tp-right hand side) This sectin allws yu t recrd the date that cmmunicatins were sent t the emplyee. Creative Pensin Trust will handle this fr yu, s the use f these bxes is entirely ptinal. 4 - Pensin cntributins The amunt that the emplyee and emplyer must cntribute t the pensin scheme is determined by the scheme s rules and yu shuld cntact Creative Pensin Trust if yu are unsure. Yu can enter pensin cntributins n bth the 'Emplyee Details' screen and n the 'Pay Details' screen.
IMPORTANT: Yu shuld nly enter pensin cntributins fr thse emplyees that have actually jined the pensin scheme! i.e. DO NOT enter cntributins fr an emplyee until Creative Pensin Trust have advised that yu add them t the pensin scheme. a) - Entering pensin cntributins n the Emplyee Details screen: Frm the main menu click 'Emplyees' then 'Emplyee Details' then click n the 'Aut Enrlment Pensins' tab. Click n the 'Set cntributins %' buttn at the bttm f the screen. Select Creative Pensin Trust frm the drp-dwn list, enter the date yu wish the cntributins t begin and then specify the apprpriate emplyee and emplyer cntributin. When yu click 'OK', Payrll Manager will ppulate the Pay Details screen with the cntributins that yu have specified fr this particular emplyee. Creative Pensin Trust always use the default 'phased minimum' emplyee and emplyer pensin cntributin amunts (1% f Qualifying Earnings until Octber 2017 when these will then increase). Please cntact Creative Pensin Trust if yu are unsure f the amunts that yu shuld enter. Repeat this prcess fr every emplyee that yu wish t enter cntributins fr when yu are instructed t d s by Creative Pensin Trust. r b) - Adding / editing pensin cntributins n the Pay Details screen:
Frm the main menu click 'Pay' and then 'Pay Details and select the relevant emplyee. Click n the 'Pensins' tab. Yu can chse t enter the pensin deductin either as a percentage r as a mnetary amunt. 5 - Prducing CSV uplad files t send t Creative Pensin Trust Make sure that yu have the crrect pay perid selected n the 'Pay Details' screen, then frm the main menu click 'Pensins' then 'Generate uplad files' and then select 'Creative Pensin Trust' Click the buttn marked 'Click here t create the file' and save the file smewhere apprpriate.
IMPORTANT: Yu shuld nt use Excel (r any ther spreadsheet sftware) t pen yur csv files after creating them as this may refrmat sme fields (e.g. date) and cause a prblem when attempting t uplad the file t Creative Pensin Trust. We suggest yu save the file that is prduced. If yu want t pen it, save ANOTHER cpy and peek at that ne first. If yu pened it by accident yu will have t amend the date fields manually
