Role: Responsible To: Responsible For: Location: Assistant Management Accountant Management Accountant No direct reports Merseyside Purpose of the Role Support the Management Accountant in ensuring the financial position of the Association is reported both accurately and timely to the Executive Management Team and the Board. Provide accurate, timely and useful financial management information to assist the Group in the delivery of its Corporate Plan. Specific Responsibilities & Accountabilities 1. To ensure a positive profile for LMH through effective business relationships with partners and stakeholders. 2. To deputise for the Management Accountant or Commercial Accountant as required. 3. To carry out such other duties and responsibilities as are consistent with the concept of the role. 4. To provide and review timely and accurate monthly management account reports for Management, and assist in the provision of quarterly reports to the Board as directed by the Management Accountant 5. Responsibility for the provision of timely, accurate and useful variance analysis with respect to budgets and forecasts on LMH Group service areas as directed by Management Accountant. 6. Assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts pack to all budget holders. All budget packs for budget holders will include a detailed commentary highlighting areas of concern. 7. Ensure monthly financial planning and budget review meetings are held with all budget managers recommending remedial action required for adverse variances and monitoring of any previously agreed remedial action. 8. Provide accurate, timely and useful financial management information which will assist budget managers in providing an effective service. 9. To assist in the preparation of the annual budget setting exercise for the Association. 10. To develop, maintain and review systems relevant to the production of accurate financial management information.
11. Provide financial advice and support to Service and cost centre managers on financial processes and requirements 12. Manage designated balance sheet accounts as directed by the Management Accountant ensuring monthly reconciliation of balances and analysis. 13. Ensure effective management of prepayments, accruals, accounting adjustments and standard entries are managed and maintained for assigned cost centres 14. To utilise the Management Information System to provide performance statistics for the Association s property portfolio. 15. Preparation of other ad-hoc reports as and when required. 16. Responsible for managing devolved budgets within the Delegation Framework, to ensure allocated resources meet the need of service users 7. Support the delivery of value for money services, providing cost-effective, efficient, quality services to meet existing and potential customers needs. 9. Role: Assistant Management Accountant Responsible To: Management Accountant Responsible For: No direct reports Location: Merseyside Essential Desirable Method of Assessment (see list below) Education and Qualifications Part Qualified Accountant, (e.g. CIMA, CIPFA, ACA) AF/CQ Previous experience of working in a financial & management accounting environment Experience, Skills & Knowledge Track record of success in the provision of financial management services Development and reporting of annual budgets/business plans which effectively support the operational targets of the company. AF/CQ Regular financial reporting, to Executive Management Teams and company Boards, identifying financial implications, providing financial forecasts and the appropriate financing options if required. Ability to evaluate development and project plans in respect of finance evaluations and in comparison to the business plan. Effective liaison and working with non finance managers to ensure the company operates with effective control arrangements. Competencies Able to ensure staff deliver high quality customer service with tact and diplomacy and can take responsibility for customer satisfaction and customer participation.
