Terms and Conditions for the Wolfson College June Event 2017 1. Terms and Conditions: 1.1. English law shall govern the contract of sale. 1.2. Definitions: 1.2.1. "Ball" The event taking place at Wolfson College on the evening of Friday 23rd June 2017 1.2.2. "Committee" The Wolfson College June Event Committee 1.2.3. Organisers Members of the Wolfson College June Event Committee 1.2.4. "Purchaser" The person purchasing one or more Tickets 1.2.5. Ticket The ticket providing entry to the Ball. The Ticket will be in the name of the Ticket-Holder. 1.2.6. "Ticket-Holder" - Any person attending the Event that appears on the Committee's list of tickets. Ticket-Holders may be a Purchaser, or a person for whom a Ticket was bought by a Purchaser. 1.3. The Ball is organized by the Committee, which may be contacted at Wolfson College, Barton Road, Cambridge, CB3 9BB, UK. 1.4. Participation at the Ball is subject to the present Terms and Conditions. 1.5. All decisions of the Committee are final. 1.6. The Committee reserves the right to alter the terms and conditions specified if deemed necessary. 2. General Terms of Purchase 2.1. The Committee reserves the right to refuse any application for tickets. 2.2. The Purchaser must be at least one of the following: 2.2.1. a member of the University of Cambridge 2.2.2. an alumnus of the University of Cambridge 2.2.3. a bona fide acquaintance of a member of the University of 2.2.4. a bona fide acquaintance of an alumnus of the University of 2.2.5. a person that has received permission from the Committee to purchase a ticket 2.3. A Ticket-Holder must be at least one of the following: 2.3.1. a member of the University of Cambridge 2.3.2. an alumnus of the University of Cambridge 2.3.3. a bona fide acquaintance of a member of the University of 2.3.4. a bona fide acquaintance of an alumnus of the University of 2.3.5. a person that has received permission from the Committee to attend the Ball 2.4. The Tickets are only representative of a Ticket-Holder s eligibility to attend the Ball and remain the property of the Committee. 2.5. Tickets may be purchased through Agora Ticketing Ltd s website www.joinagora.com. 2.6. If a Purchaser or Ticket-Holder is found to offer a Ticket for general sale then they may lose all their tickets without refund. 2.7. The Purchaser agrees to abide by these Terms and Conditions and agrees that the Ticket-Holder of the Ticket which they are purchasing will also abide by them. 2.8. The Purchaser shall ensure that all Ticket-Holders of tickets that they have

purchased are over 18. 2.9. The Purchaser undertakes full responsibility and liability for the accuracy of this information and for the actions at the Ball of the Ticket- Holders for which they have purchased a Ticket. 2.10. Tickets are valid only for the person whose name matches the Committee s database. 2.11. Any person who is not a party to the contract of sale shall have no right under the Contract (Right of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce or enjoy the benefit of any its terms. 2.12. In the event that the Ball sells out, a waiting list will be created. Should tickets become available at a later date, they will be issued to applicants in chronological order of their position on the waiting list. Successful applicants will be notified by email. 2.13. Any attempt to obtain tickets by deception or fraud may result in prosecution. 2.14. Unauthorised access or use of this website is prohibited and constitutes an offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. 3. Payment 3.1. Payment will be online, or by cheque or cash in exceptional circumstances (at the discretion of the Organisers). 3.2. The ticket price will be indicated on the website. An additional, nonrefundable booking fee of 2% of the ticket price and 0.20 will be charged per ticket by Agora Ticketing Ltd. 3.3. Purchasers are advised to follow carefully all payment instructions provided and to retain proof of payment. The Organisers take no responsibility for money lost by failure to follow the payment instructions. 4. Refunds 4.1. Tickets are non refundable and non transferable except where express written permission is granted by the Committee. The discretion to transfer or refund tickets rests solely with the Committee and any transfer or refund may be subject to a 20 administration charge. 4.2. Booking fees charged by Agora Ticketing Ltd on its website www.joinagora.com are non-refundable. 4.3. In the event that the Ball is cancelled for any reason whatsoever, the Purchaser assumes the risk that a refund may not be available. Partial or full refunds will be given only where, in the opinion of the Committee, the cost of such refunds can be recovered by the Committee. 4.4. Ticket-Holder name changes will be permitted. Administrative fees may be charged depending upon when the name change request is made.

5. Admission to the Ball 5.1. Ticket-Holders must present a valid wristband to be admitted to the Ball. They must also show a valid form (in the eyes of the Organisers) of photographic identification (e.g. passport, driving licence) and proof of age. Their name should match the one in the Committee's database. 5.1.1. Wristbands will be provided upon entry to the Ball. Ticket-holders must wear these wristbands at all times. Lost/damaged wristbands will not be replaced, other than in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Organisers. 5.2. Ticket Holders who are members or alumni of the University of Cambridge must present their University of Cambridge ID card (or University of Cambridge Alumni Card) to be admitted to the Ball. 5.3. Ticket Holders who are not members or alumni of the University of Cambridge must enter the ball at the same time as their bona fide acquaintance (either a member or alumnus of the University of Cambridge) who is attending the Ball. This bona fide acquaintance must be the one declared at the time of purchasing the ticket. 5.4. The Committee reserves the right to inspect clothing, containers, packages and bags intended to be brought into Wolfson College to verify that the terms and conditions laid out in this document are being adhered to. 5.5. Ticket Holders must abide by the dress code; all Ticket Holders must wear Black Tie or National Dress. 5.6. The Committee reserves the right to refuse any Ticket-Holder admission to the Ball. 5.7. Queue Jump Passes allow for priority access to the event on the night of the Ball only if presented with an Early Bird, Standard, or Group ticket. Queue Jump Passes alone do not grant access to the Ball. The name on the Queue Jump Pass must match the name on the Ticket. 6. Conditions of Admission 6.1. The Committee, its representatives and Wolfson College reserve the right, with reasonable cause, to refuse entry to or remove any Ticket Holder from the Ball without any entitlement to a refund. Reasonable causes include, but are not limited to: 6.1.1. If the name on the Ticket is not the name of the person attempting to gain entry to the ball 6.1.2. If the name on the Ticket does not match the Committee s Ticket- Holder database 6.1.3. If the Ticket Holder has committed or is about to commit a criminal offence. 6.1.4. If the Ticket Holder has engaged in, or is engaging in, any activities the Committee deems unacceptable. This includes (but is not limited to) drunkenness, disorderliness, use or anticipated use of drugs or any form of excessive behaviour. 6.1.5. Failure to show a valid wristband. 6.1.6. Bringing a banned item into Wolfson College. These include, but are not limited to: alcohol; animals except service animals (e.g. guide dogs, police dogs and horses); any item that could be used as a weapon; beach balls and other inflatable devices; drinks and food; fireworks; whistles or loud hailers and dangerous goods. 6.1.7. If a Ticket Holder attempts to disrupt or interrupt any event;

engages in conduct which is a risk to the safety of themselves or others; or engages in any conduct towards, or speaks to, any person in a manner which offends, insults, humiliates, intimidates, threatens, disparages or vilifies that other person on the basis of race, religion, colour, sexual orientation, descent or national/ethnic origin. 6.1.8. If a Ticket Holder attempts to cause willful damage or harm to any part of Wolfson College, including fixtures and fittings, fences, vegetation and infrastructure during the Ball. 6.1.9. If the Ticket Holder takes any photographs or records for anything other than personal use. 6.1.10. If a Ticket Holder attempts to interfere with, obstructs or hinders the Organisers, employees, contractors or authorised officers of the Ball, or any member of Wolfson College staff in the exercise of their powers, function or duties during the Ball. 6.1.11. No admission to the Event will be accepted after 10:30pm and Ticket- Holders will not be re-admitted if they exit the Event at any time for any reason. The Committee reserves the right to alter this arrangement with reasonable prior notice. 6.2. In order to enhance security and protect the safety of the Committee, workers, contractors, and Ticket-Holders, surveillance equipment may be operated within Wolfson College including security cameras. By entering the Ball, you consent to information about yourself (including images) being recorded and disclosed to others including (without limitation) law enforcement bodies and persons involved in relevant legal or disciplinary actions to the extent that Wolfson College deems such disclosure to be necessary so as to protect their lawful interests, the public interest or the safety of persons or property present at the Ball. 6.3. There will be photographers on site during the Ball. By purchasing tickets you are accepting that photographs may be taken of yourself and Ticket Holders for whom you have purchased their respective Tickets and that these may be released into the public domain, such as being published on the website, for journalistic purposes and for a memento of the event. The copyright of these photographs will be retained by the Committee. 6.4. Ticket-Holders are obliged to comply with the instructions of the Committee and / or persons employed in administering and supervising the Ball. This is to ensure the safety of all persons present. 6.5. The Committee reserves the right to require the search of any persons by a licensed security guard upon reasonable suspicion of possession of any illegal substances, weaponry or stolen items. 6.6. Ticket Holders believed to be involved in an illegal activity may be reported to the Police. 6.7. The Organisers may alter these conditions if such changes are reasonably necessary to address safety issues or otherwise protect legitimate interests of Wolfson College. 7. Health and Safety 7.1. Ticket-Holders must comply with Health and Safety Laws and Regulations, and with instructions and rules given in this regard by the Organisers.

8. Liability 8.1. To the maximum extent permitted under Law, the Committee and Wolfson College will not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage to personal property caused by any reason whatsoever suffered by any Purchaser or Ticket-Holder during the Ball. Ticket-Holders are strongly advised to take care of all personal items and to make their own arrangements to insure all items of value. 8.2. Under no circumstances shall the Committee be responsible for any injurious act or default committed by themselves, their workers, subcontractors or any independent contractor causing death or personal injury unless directly caused by gross negligence on the part of the Committee. 8.3. The Committee will only use the personal information provided by the Purchaser for the purposes of verifying the identity of Ticket- Holders, creating anonymised statistics about the Ball and for communications related to the Event. The Committee will abide by the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998. The Committee and Wolfson College will not be liable for how personal information is handled by third parties. 9. Programme 9.1. The Committee reserves the right to make changes to the programme without prior notice. 10. Force Majeure 10.1. No refunds will be made if the Ball or any part of the programme has to be cancelled due to an event of force majeure.
