GBS Verification -Status Individual IACS Member Society submitted a request of GBS Verification by the end of 2013. IACS Common Package 1 (CP1) and CP2 including CSR for BC & OT were delivered to IMO Secretariat in 2013/2014. GBS Audit Teams for GBS verification submitted their final reports to IMO Secretariat, which will be reported to MSC 96. 9
Latest Status of GBS Audit in terms of IACS 1. Self-Assessment of CSR included in IACS CP2 has been verified by international GBS Audit Teams based on the Guidelines for verification of conformity with GBS. 2. The final reports for GBS Audit along with any relevant recommendations will be forwarded to MSC 96 by IMO Secretariat. 3. Some findings have been identified by GBS Audit Teams. Although the resolution of these findings is still underway, it should be recognized that these findings are mainly related to additional information to be submitted to demonstrate CSR compliance to the GBS standards and that there is no suggestion that the CSR design standards themselves are deficient. 4. In addressing the IMO Audit team s findings, IACS and its member Classification Societies will respond to the points raised. These actions are currently under development and the timeline for each will vary depending upon the specific topic. 10
Latest Status of GBS Audit in terms of IACS IACS has received final reports from IMO. Two (2) reports for IACS, one covering Functional Requirements 1 to 8, and one covering Functional Requirements 9 to 15 Findings (Non-Conformity and Observation) are included. IACS Members have also received final report from IMO regarding their individual submissions. (12 reports) IACS is working to rectify the Non-Conformity items and to address the Observation items raised. IACS has set up three new Project Teams and has tasked Hull and Survey Panels & EG/GBS to consider the findings and undertake the associate work. The final reports will be submitted to MSC96 by the IMO secretariat IACS Action Plans addressing each IMO GBS Audit finding will be submitted to the IMO secretariat for inclusion in the MSC96 submission by year end. 11
