(Handuts Included) It is the plicy f the Seattle Schl Bard that budgetary frmulas and staffing standards determining schl budgets within Seattle Public Schls be reviewed annually in the budget develpment prcess t ensure service f the academic needs f their students, within the cnfines f the district s annual budget. The Seattle Schl Bard directs the Superintendent t implement a schl funding mdel that prvides a cre fundatin which includes necessary resurces fr teachers, teachers supprt and administrative supprt fr academic success fr all students f Seattle Public Schls and uses the fllwing guiding principles: 1. Prvide the basic staffing fr schl adjusted fr substantive size differential cnsidering nn-instructinal csts; 2. Result in a transparent schl funding mdel that schls, families, and cmmunity members can understand; 3. Prvide the cre staffing needed fr schls t fcus n academic issues; 4. Based n data, prvide persnnel differentially t schls n the basis f student characteristics, including pverty, bilingual, special educatin, highly capable, and academic perfrmance levels; 5. Align resurces with funding requirements, state and federal grant requirements, and cntractual bligatins; 6. Align staff adjustments with changing student ppulatins and schl level administrative duties; 7. Invest mre resurces in early learning (K-3); and 8.
