DILUTED EPS BEFORE CHARGES/GAINS RECONCILIATION For the three months ended September 30, 2018, diluted EPS before charges/gains is net income from continuing operations, net of tax including the impact from noncontrolling interests calculated on a diluted per-share basis excluding $16.9 million ($13.5 million after tax or $0.09 per diluted share) of restructuring and other charges, an asset impairment charge of $27.1 million ($23.7 million after tax or $0.17 per diluted share), a net tax benefit related to an update to the estimated impact of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 of $2.9 million ($0.02 per diluted share) and the impact from actuarial losses associated with our defined benefit plans of $0.3 million ($0.2 million after tax). For the three months ended September 30, 2017, diluted EPS before charges/gains is net income from continuing operations, net of tax including the impact from noncontrolling interests calculated on a diluted per-share basis excluding $0.6 million ($0.4 million after tax) of restructuring and the impact from actuarial gains associated with our defined benefit plans of $1.3 million ($0.9 million after tax).
