Payroll Single Touch Payroll Information from ATO Website: Single Touch Payroll is a reporting change for employers. It starts from 1 July 2018 for employers with 20 or more employees. You will report payments such as salaries and wages, pay as you go (PAYG) withholding and superannuation information from your payroll solution each time you pay your employees. Single Touch Payroll will be expanded to include employers with 19 or less employees from 1 July 2019. This is subject to legislation being passed in parliament. For further information please see: https://www.ato.gov.au/business/single-touch-payroll/ Table of Contents See link for Prerequisites:... 1 Changes:... 1 Security required:... 2 Process your payroll exactly as you normally would.... 2 Submission to the ATO... 3 [Log] button... 7 ATO Answer... 8 [Re-Submit] button... 8 Success message... 8 ERROR MESSAGES (you could receive):... 9 See link for Prerequisites: http://help.pcschool.net/help/single-touch-payroll/?category_id=48 Changes: The main changes will be with Single Touch is that you will need to upload after every payroll you process. You will now be able to do Termination pays and upload with your normal payroll but there are a few new codes you may need to setup at the time of doing a Termination pay, or allowances, holiday workers etc. Also check your data as the ATO will reject any files that do not have the correct information: 1. Your company information 2. All your employees have correct addresses, City, State and Postcode 3. Tax file numbers Superannuation: You will still have to process your Superannuation payments as per usual. Termination: new codes will have to be created. Allowances & deductions: check set up correctly Version 20180614 Page 1 of 9

Note: Also note that every time you hit the [Re-submit] button in Spider to upload to the ATO you will have to pay.25 cents per person for it to be transferred to the ATO site. (Which will be billed out every month from PCSchool). Don t be impatient and wait for the ATO to respond by [POLL]ing instead.
