No. Fin.(Pen)B(10)-6/98-III Government of Himachal Pradesh Finance (Pension) Department ******* Dated: Shimla-171002, the 28 th January,2009 OFFICE MEMORANDUM Subject: Grant of 3 rd instalment of Interim Relief to Himachal Pradesh Government Pensioners/ Family Pensioners w.e.f. 01.02.2009 The undersigned is directed to invite reference to this Department O.M. of even number dated 7 th March, 2008 and 18 th October,2008 vide which 1 st and 2 nd instalment of interim relief at the rate of 5% of Pension/Family Pension (including dearness pension) were granted w.e.f. 01.11.2006 and 01.10.2008 respectively and to say that Governor, Himachal Pradesh is pleased to grant 3 rd instalment of interim relief at the rate of 10% of Pension/Family Pension ( including dearness pension) w.e.f. 01.02.2009 to Himachal Pradesh Government Pensioners/ Family Pensioners. The interim relief (1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd Instalments) will be absorbed in the future pension revision to be allowed by the State Government. 2. The interim relief will be treated as pension for calculation of dearness relief admissible on 01.02.2009. 3. These orders shall apply to H.P.Government Pensioners/Family Pensioners (excluding pensioners of All India Services). 4. To ensure that the Government servant retiring between 01.02.2009 to 30.11.2009 do not face any loss in fixation of pension, as a special dispensation in their case, it has been decided that the 3 rd instalment of interim relief would also be treated as basic pay notionally for calculation of

average emoluments for computation of pension, in respect of basic pay (including Dearness Pay) received by them prior to 1.2.2009. 5. Since the 1 st & 2 nd instalments of 5% each and 3 rd instalment of 10% Interim Relief are to be counted for calculation of retirement benefits, therefore, Pension/Family Pension shall be calculated at the rate of 50% and 30% respectively of Pay plus Dearness Pay plus total 20% Interim Relief, subject to minimum of Rs.2358/-and maximum of Rs.19500/-(for pension) and Rs.11700/-( for family pension).the provisions contained in para 8 and 10 (i) of this Department O.M. No. Fin (Pen) A (3)-1/96 Part I dated 31.8.1998, para 3 of O.M. No. Fin.( Pen) B(10-6/98-I dated 8.8.2005, and para 4 of O.M.
