2019 Changes: Important Details Here s more information about some of the key changes. New Eligibility for Domestic Partners Domestic partner benefits for same- and opposite-gender domestic partners of active employees, and for eligible children of domestic partners, are being added as of January 1, 2019. Your domestic partner will be eligible for coverage if you and your domestic partner meet the eligibility requirements described in the 2019 Domestic Partner Handbook (located on DuPont Connection). If you enroll a domestic partner, in mid-january 2019 the Dependent Verification Center will mail a verification request to you requesting that you complete an Affidavit of Domestic Partnership to confirm eligibility of your domestic partner. You can cover your domestic partner in these BeneFlex benefits: Medical (including prescription drug coverage) Dental Vision Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) Spouse/domestic partner life insurance Spouse/domestic partner accidental death insurance Your domestic partner s biological or adopted child, foster child, or a child for whom your domestic partner has court-appointed permanent legal guardianship, can also be covered up through the end of the month in which the child turns age 26. What Else You Need to Know The value of coverage provided to your domestic partner and his/her children is reported as income (referred to as imputed income) and generally subject to income tax and withholding to you. The total cost of coverage includes the portion paid by DuPont as well as your share of the premium. Your domestic partner will not be your default beneficiary for your employee life insurance, but can be designated as a beneficiary, if you choose. Domestic partners and their eligible children will be treated the same as legal spouses and eligible children for purposes of certain employee leaves of absence (i.e., bereavement, family, and new parent leaves). The Working Spouse/Domestic Partner Rule applies. This means that your domestic partner must purchase coverage through his or her own employer if the monthly premium for individual coverage is less than $100 before being covered by DuPont. Domestic partners are not eligible for retiree medical and dental coverage. Learn more in the 2019 Domestic Partner Handbook, located on DuPont Connection. 2019 BeneFlex Changes and Checklist DuPont 4
Medical Plan Premium Changes For 2019, DuPont has been able to mitigate sizable premium increases to our medical plan due to the great job and positive actions employees are taking to manage their health and minimize claims including by participating in our Healthy Living Program and using resources like Castlight and Teladoc. Because spouses typically generate higher medical expenses than employees and children, medical premiums under only the Core option are increasing for You + Spouse/Domestic Partner by $15/ month and You + Family coverage by $20/month in 2019. The $40 monthly Healthy Incentive Credit will still apply if you earned it for 2019 to help reduce your premiums further. Premiums under the Premium Saver option are not changing and there are no changes to dental, vision, and life insurance premiums. New Prescription Drug Administrator: CVS Caremark CVS Caremark will replace Express Scripts as the prescription drug administrator for DuPont s Core and Premium Saver medical options. You ll find that CVS Caremark has lower prescription drug prices on an aggregate basis, although pricing will vary on a drug-by-drug basis. There are no changes to how your coverage pays in 2019 you must pay for your prescriptions until you meet the combined medical and prescription drug deductible, then the plan begins to contribute and you pay a coinsurance amount. However, there are enhancements in how you can fill your prescriptions. How to fill your prescriptions in 2019 You can continue to fill your prescriptions at a variety of retail pharmacies. In-network pharmacies include CVS, Walgreens, Giant, Kroger, Rite Aid, Walmart, Target (which are CVS pharmacies) and many others. Up to a 90-day supply of maintenance medication can be filled by mail, or ordered and filled at a CVS retail pharmacy (including those in Target stores) for the same price as using mail order. What to expect if you currently have a prescription In most cases, you will not experience any disruption: Mail-order prescriptions will automatically be transferred to the CVS Caremark mail-order center, except where prohibited by law. If you are currently enrolled in the Express Scripts Worry Free Refill program, you will need to sign up for CVS Caremark s Ready Fill program to continue automatic shipments of maintenance medications. You ll receive more information in your Welcome Kit. Retail prescriptions (up to a 30-day supply) will be processed by CVS Caremark with the first fill/refill in 2019. You will need to provide your new CVS Caremark ID card to your pharmacist starting on January 1, 2019. In November, CVS Caremark will contact you by mail if one or more of the following apply: You have a prescription for a specialty medication. These cannot be transferred from Express Scripts to CVS Caremark. Your mail-order prescription transfer is prohibited by law, such as if it s for a controlled substance. Your current prescription is not on the CVS Caremark formulary. Your current prescription is a non-preferred medication and you can save money by changing to an available lower-cost alternative. If any of these situations apply to you or a covered family member, you will need a new prescription from your doctor for your medication starting January 1, 2019. The personalized letter that you receive will provide details regarding the steps you should take to update your specific prescription(s). New Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Limit Due to updated IRS rules, you can contribute up to $2,650 per year to a Limited Purpose FSA, effective January 1, 2019. This is a $50 increase from the 2018 annual contribution limit. As a reminder, your money in the Limited Purpose FSA can be used to pay for qualified dental and vision expenses. You ll want to consider the Limited Purpose FSA only if you re already contributing the maximum amount to your Health Savings Account (HSA), and expect to need even more savings to pay for planned dental and vision expenses in 2019. This may help you preserve your HSA funds for a later date. The annual contribution limit for the Dependent Care FSA, which you can use to pay for qualified child and elder care needs, remains at $5,000 for 2019.
