Since this is the last meeting of the year it is time for our Christmas party. We will have a new game. After the game we will of course also have our monthly auction. About 20 members were present. Linda won extra raffle tickets in the name tag drawing. Leen and Gary Morrison won raffle prizes. (US stamp sheets) Paul reminded members that it is time to pay 2019 dues. Mail it in or see Linda. Paul reminded all of the inclement weather policy. It is in this issue of the PQ. Leen gave an update the SOC auction. Volunteers are requested to help out. SOC lotting (by George, Andy and Don H.) is in progress, donation request letters have been sent out, including letters to 25 regional stamp clubs. PR preparations are in progress. For the Moline Stamp Fair 16 potential dealers have been contacted. We hope to get at least 10-12. Paul announced the Christmas event. There will be a new and fun game (info in this PQ) and everyone that wants to play is asked to bring a wrapped gift of $ 10 value and also, if you like, cookies or sweets. After asking the group it was decided to not have a Board meeting. Volume LXXXII. Issue 3 Page 5 Club Meeting Cancellation Policy A. Monthly QCSC meeting will be cancelled if the Moline Public Schools are cancelled for that day. Please monitor public media to determine if Moline schools are cancelled or not. B. If Moline Public Schools are given an early dismissal for that day then the President will determine if the monthly meeting should be held. C. If a Winter Storm Alert has been issued then the President will determine if the monthly meeting should be held. D. Other conditions (even non-weather related) may require the President to cancel a meeting. E. The process the President will use in determining if a meeting is to be cancelled will be: 1. If possible, consulting of Executive Committee to poll them for their collective wisdom. 2. The actual decision to cancel will be made by the President alone. (unless he is unavailable) 3. The President will inform the public media if the meeting has been cancelled. 4. The Secretary will have a prepared list of the membership with phone numbers. The President and Board members will phone each member to inform them of the cancelled meeting. Members should rely also on their own judgement to determine whether or not to attend a meeting during inclement weather. Even if a meeting has not been cancelled it may still be prudent for an individual member to stay home. CHRISTMAS EXCHANGE GAME Switch, Steal or Unwrap 1. Place your wrapped gift on the gift table 2. The host will provide each with a gift in front of you 3. Our president will start the game by rolling the die first 4. Take the action listed on the chart ==> Switch, Steal or Unwrap 5.
