The Bank that begins with Financial Results Q3 (2013-14 )

HIGHLIGHTS 31.12.2013. Total Business at Rs.188867 crore, with a y-o-y growth of 19.78%. Highlights Total Deposits increased to Rs.109891 crore, up by 19.34% Y-o-Y. Total Advance rose to Rs. 78976 crore, growth of 20.40% Y-o-Y. CASA deposits increased to Rs.39104 crore as against Rs. 36819 crore last year registered a growth of 6.21%.

HIGHLIGHTS NINE MONTHS Highlights Interest Income increased to Rs. 7837 crore with a Y- o-y growth of 13.33% from Rs. 6915 crore last year. Other Income rose to Rs. 895 crore from Rs. 716 crore last year,with a Y-o-Y growth of 25.11%. Interest Expenditure grew by 19.65% to reach Rs. 5973 crore as compared to Rs. 4992 crore last year. Operating Expenditure increased to Rs. 1241 crore with a yearly growth of 12.82% from Rs. 1100 crore last year. Operating profit at Rs. 1519 crore as against Rs. 1539 crore during corresponding period of last year

HIGHLIGHTS Q3 2013-14 Highlights Interest Income increased to Rs. 2766 crore with a Y- o-y growth of 18.13%. Other Income stood at Rs. 221 crore as against Rs 258 Crore last year. Interest Expenditure increased by 17.45% to reach Rs. 2005 crore over the corresponding period last year. Operating Expenditure increased to Rs. 437 crore with a yearly growth of 16.00% Operating profit at Rs. 545 crore from Rs. 516 crore last year with a Y-o-Y +ve growth of 5.69%.

RATIO - Q3-2013-14 Highlights Contd NIM stands at 2.65% as compared to 1.88% last quarter. CD Ratio increased to 71.87% as compared to 71.04% in last quarter. Yield on Investment improved to 7.93%. Yield on Advance 10.52% as compared to 10.50% last quarter. Cost of Deposits decreased to 6.74% as compared to 7.42% last quarter. Cost to Income Ratio stands at 44.49% from 52.46% last quarter.

ASSET QUALITY Assetquality The reduction in NPA has been Rs. 913 crore against Rs. 702 crore last year However, due to fresh slippage of Rs. 3172 crore Gross NPA has increased to Rs. 8546 crore from Rs. 2902 crore last year. Gross NPA ratio stands at 10.82% in comparison to 7.52% in last quarter. Total restructured stands at Rs.5524 crore, out of which fresh restructuring in current year Rs 1003 crore required additional provision of Rs. 153 crore.

FINANCIAL INCLUSION HOLISTIC APPROACH TO FINANCIAL INCLUSION Bank is the SLBC convener in two states, West Bengal & Tripura Lead responsibility in 34 districts. Under FI initiatives Bank covered all the allotted 1858 villages (spread across 11 states and 1 UT) with population above 2000 for providing banking facilities. Under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Bank has its presence in 67 districts with 240 Branch. Subsidy to the tune of Rs. 29.18 Crore has been disbursed through APBS/NACH channel in the DBT Districts during the 3 rd Quarter of F.Y.2013-14. 4.98 lakhs Basic Savings Bank accounts (BSBD) opened during the quarter, taking the number of BSBD to 33.28 lakhs, with Rs. 28.81 crore balance as at December 13.

FINANCIAL INCLUSION 5.20 lakh new smart cards were delivered during the quarter with a cumulative Smart Cards delivery of 17.30 lakh to the FI beneficiaries as at December 13. HOLISTIC APPROACH TO FINANCIAL INCLUSION Credit linkage has been made to 6.68 lakh customers with an outstanding amount of Rs. 174.23 crore. Opened 1758 Ultra Small Branches to cater to the financially excluded population. As at 30 th December 13, Bank has opened 34 Financial Literacy Centres covering all 34 Lead Districts. Financial Literacy Centres have organized 212 workshops wherein 7771 persons attended and 4441 were converted as Bank s customer till December 2013.

REGIONAL RURAL BANKS HOLISTIC APPROACH TO FINANCIAL INCLUSION Bank has sponsored 4 RRBs, Bangiya Gramin Vikash Bank (West Bengal), Assam Gramin Vikas Bank (Assam), Tripura Gramin Bank (Tripura) and Manipur Rural Bank (Manipur). Combined branch network of the sponsored RRBs is 1127 with a combined business of Rs. 27441 crore as on 31.12.2013. Out of the above, Bangiya Gramin Vikas Bank is second largest in the country in terms of branch network All the branches of the RRBs are CBS enabled.
