New project approved to control river pollution The Central Government approved the new project to control pollution of the year in Navalin city of Goa. This project was approved by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change under the National River Conservation Scheme and its cost would be Rs. 61.74 crore. Both the central government and the state government will share the cost based on the ratio of 60:40. Under this project, a sewer of approximately 32 km will be added and 3 million liters per day (MLD) sewage treatment plant will be constructed. This project is scheduled to be completed by January, 2021.
